I got a celestial toystore steel sonic (david tennant version) and, I go to show my friend in his car, and it doesnt work. So I speedily remove the batteries and try to find some at walmart, no luck, come back home put them back in, and now its making the sonic noise, but no light...

To ANYONE who owns the same prop... Is this possibly caused by low battery, or is it definately a wire issue... Because if its the latter.... I dont know what to do...:cry

so i found that the black wire and yellow wire need to be touching for the light to work... Does this mean they can be... Welded? Or superglued together?

Someone with wire expertise please let me know how to connect the two ends inefinately, so i dont have to worry about it anymore.

well, there are no refunds, all sales final, and all papers that arrived in the mail with it, are in what looks like chinese.

well, all that needs to happen is one wire touch another... Is there a glue or something thats a conductor which i could use to connect the two wires?

Im new to this, and I can make it work temporarily, so if I just had a way to get the two wires permanently connected, then, case closed, I have a great prop.

Help a newbie out? =/

Just get new batteries, and sell it. The guy from Celestial toy store is kinda a ***** and his work shows, email him about the wiring. but get good batteries first.

Solder is what you need, but without actually seeing the broken circuit, it's hard to be specific.

Before fixing it, I recommend contacting the maker as well. Let him know what's up with as much detail as possible, and at the VERY least he should instruct you as to how best to repair it. You never know, he may just offer to repair/replace the damaged section himself (most folks would).

If you don't know how to solder, there is now a wire glue available that is conductive and can be used to repair electronics:

A list of distributors:

I have no experience with the product. It sounds like what you're looking for, though.

show some pics of the insides and whereabouts it has possible problems, and maybe one of us can figure it out also.

Thats what happens when you deal with people like that.

To give you an idea about CT's customer service, my sonic had a similar problem when it first arrived, and upon contacting him and making sure it wasn't something I could fix here, he apologized profusely, not only completely rebuilt the electronics, but upgraded the paint to his powder-coat. All for free.

I realize he's caustic (and a whole bunch of other words), but he's been nothing but helpful, knowledgeable, and gracious to me (and, going from what others have said, all the rest of his customers).

Evagelios, you may already been contacted by another member, so sorry if this is the case. CT has put a message out for you via twitter. He says if you contact him he can fix the problem for you. I have found his after sales service is excellent, so don't be afraid to email him in the future with any probs over you Sonic. Regards Mooneye63
