Star Trek Comm Badges; what paints?

To heat up a can of spray paint, I usually just put the water on from the tap as hot as it will go, fill a pot of full of the water and place the can in it for 5 minutes. Seems to do the job.

I’m trying to make myself a magnetic badge out of resin formy Darmok Jacket and I can not for the life of me get Krylon Bright Gold to stick to resin or primer. Any tips? What did you do to heat the can and the badge? I’m losing my mind with this
Make sure you wash any release off the resin with dish soap. Use the proper primer- do some testing first. Heat with a hair dryer.

thanks for that! what would you consider a proper primer? not a lot of black filler primers out there or readily available that I can find. Also are you using an epoxy resin or Smoothcast? Thank you in advance and sorry for all the questions, lockdown has me learning new skills. It's been a dream of mine for about 20 years to have a proper Star Trek uniform what better time to do it.

Never mind my last stupid questions. Heat was definitely the key. Thanks so much for that advice. Came out great.
