I liked it a little better with the protrusion (photon bay) on the bottom and the engines coming from that. But, I admit this new pass with that protrusion top side and thicker engines on the bottom of the saucer looks nice as well as it does seem a bit more refined. Only thing about having a photon bay shape like that is to me, it seems more TMP than TOS as the photon ports weren't as obvious. Maybe turning it into some sort of a sensor array (with another small deflector/sensor dish on front) might be worth trying or a different type of antenna/sensor array (like a Bozeman style pod perhaps).

Since this is an old design, maybe having the old pilot style spiked bussards and open reactor loops would be neat to see at least for the pilot (maybe have them refit to series style when the crew gets the ship into shape).

Hi Steve, I think your getting there with this design. I will mention some things that you are probably aware of.

I would cut the back of the saucer so it is in-line with the grid lines or space the grid lines to meet the saucer cut, it would just look nicer that way. I would also scale down the nav lights a little and make the grey pie sections underneath a little more subtle.

I do like the addition on top of the neck, but like JMC mentions maybe from the wrong era. My last comment is the battle damage on the top of the saucer, It follows the curve of the grid lines which sort of makes it look like a nice scar rather than a nasty looking non-symmetrical type of scar if you know what I mean. Sorry if you think I'm nit picking Steve I really am not, the Sirius like the enterprise is the backbone of the show so you need to get it perfect. The weathering looks great, the view from the back looks great, all in you've done a great job.
John.

Guys thanks soooo much for all the detailed input I'd expect nothing more from such an intelligent group.

But also keep in mind you don't know the whole story of the first episode. This has been a parts ship. Something to shoot at in wars games and test new parts on. That's why the nacelles are the newer type. Whey they are angled on. In the first show one of them comes off at warp 2.

Also it is far from finished after only 4 days from scratch. Give it time.

thanks again!

Sir, your work, all your work is amazing.

I read each thread...and enjoy them very much!

I have no words for the difficulties you and your partner are in.
But once you got just a little chance, I believe you will be raising again soon.
You are not the kind of ship sinking in the stormy ocean.
My thought with you and your family.

Katsuhiko Fujihira.

Okay, given how you've explained it, the launcher makes sense then. So if it is intended to get shot at, you could also put some drone target orange stripes on it as well I suppose (like what the Air Force and Navy do with their Drone converted fighters).

Siriusly, Steve?

HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Oh...sorry...cracked myself up.

This looks wicked cool, Steve.

My very best to you in all your endeavors...will be watching this thread and your web site with great interest.

Okay, nice subtle tweaks and she looks good enough to me. The little sensor turrets on top are a very nice touch, as well as the upper and lower saucer edge tweaks. Now I want to build a model of this. :)

I’m moving on to the corridor sets and the Turbo lift I still have to make. In addition I have to matt Rosie and I into the window of a TOS shuttle for that shot where we approach and see the Sirius for the first time. We all ready have the green screen shot.

At this time until I get it on our website it’s time to start asking for help from the fans beyond the donations.
Here’s a short list of what we need to shoot the first full episode. And this must be in the Los Angeles area.

1. A DP with a good Cannon 60D or better.

2. Lighting package.

3. Stage space. It could be anything from an empty warehouse to a large workspace. Keep in mind we won’t be building entire sets so we don’t need a huge space.

4. Costume maker. Our uniforms will be different and easier to make then the TOS tunics.

5. Props. We are designing new props that are hybrids of the standard issue weapons. Our engineer character is very inventive.

6. A good make up person that knows how to apply my prosthetics.

7. A good sound man with a good digital recorder.

8. Sets. We need someone do make up green screen blanks and a few actual sections of our bridge. Again this bridge will be a bit different from the Enterprise.

This is just for starters. My wife and I are working on the script. We are hoping to shoot this summer after we finish the pilot.

If you can donate your time, space, or equipment and would like to be part of an LA based Fan Star Trek production please go to the website and send me an email. STAR TREK: SIRIUS

Thanks so much!
Steve

Thanks so much and I will always keep hope. You did well with your daughter it's a hell of a thing to go through.

Star Trek Sirius is going along way to improving Gilly's condition. It gives er something to look forward to that she just loves being a part of. Star Trek.

She is as big of a fan as any of us. Maybe more so. She's doing the computer voice and writing the shows bases on my crazy ideas. It's just this type of thing that gives her hope and takes her mind off all the crap she's having to go through.

Raising funds so far hasn't been so good but I have to give it time. We have so much more to do. A new trailer is in the works. It takes time for people to find out about and realize it's no a pipe dream we have actually shot the pilot!

I am going to star an Indiegogo campaign next week. I am pushing hard in my spare time and late at night to make this happen.

So if you guys can't donate please spread the word about it. Every bit helps.

Steve
