Star Trek TOS yellow/red costumes *photo heavy*

I've been planning on redoing my command shirt. What material did you 2 use?

Velour. It's hard to find velour in a color even close to command gold. I did a lot of searching, and this was the closest I could get. And every time I went back to that store, they never had it again.

You made Finnegan's cadet uniform from Shore Leave?! That's awesome! It must have been a real pain to find the right fabric.

Maybe it's the angles I'm taking all the photos from...it's pretty short and I've got the booty shorts underneath!

Bad Wolf - thanks for the hair compliment! Actually figured it out the morning of the shoot. Last time I'd worn the costume, I had tried to give myself a big poof in the front and curl the rest of my hair...but I wasn't very impressed with the overall look. But then I remembered some of the girls would have hair piled on the back of their head so I took a ponytail piece I had to a more impressive up-do. Definitely going to be the hairstyle I use whenever I wear this outfit now!

Tiberius - Love the photos, and the car! I've got a blue '06 Mustang, but had been eyeing the yellow/gold a few times...a gorgeous, unique color.

Nice photos Victoria! I was laughing my a$$ off, when I saw your big Tribble on a leash - you really got that classic 60's look for a Starfleet officer of the 23.rd century. Does the Tribble have a name? Because I coined my friends Tribble "Fluffy" and it sticked

GREAT costumes and yes, gotta love the tribble on a leash! Ha! The photos are incredible too.. Looking at these makes me miss home a little. I use to work in Acton, which is literally like 5 minutes from the Vasquez Rocks, and you wouldn't believe how much stuff gets shot out there. Use to be fun grabbing lunch and driving out to see what was being filmed, but thank goodness there's times were you can just enjoy the site for itself or get to have a good time, like above. I don't blame Shatner either for wearing wrestling boots cause there's stills from the Arena where he actually climbed to the top peak. Been there, done that in sneakers... and I can't even begin to think about trying to do something like that in boots! It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the spot, but daaaaang.. It's STEEP! Gorn or not.. I butt scooted down! lol. Thanks for sharing the pics and your work, good stuff.

There's a scene a little more than halfway thru the episode, in which Kirk runs up to the lower peak in order to drop a boulder onto the Gorn. I'm pretty sure the shots of Kirk actually climbing up to the boulder used a stuntman, as the shots of Shatner pushing the boulder look like they were shots somewhere else.

Even in the wrestling boots, you can see how gingerly Shatner clambers around the rocks. I had some shots taken of me running up toward the peak, but I wasn't going to attempt the climb up there in those boots!

Jinyo, yeah, Shatner's never actually seen at the top peak in the show at all, but there's an actual picture of him up there along with other big names/ films near the park's main gate/ visitor center. Such a shame too cause if you went through the trouble ya know.. Probably got up there and went.. Oh heck no! I imagine many transporter jokes were made.

I just found this thread and lord did i giggle when i saw that tribble!! i love the costumes, you both look really good. So many times you see photo's of people in their outfits and they just dont seem to look right. But you guys really did nail the TOS look..Big thumbs up!
