Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

So far the only way we know you can end up in the world between worlds is through a jedi temple like Ezra, or being pulled in by someone already there. Can Anakin as a spirit do that to save Ahsoka? Is someone else in there, like Thrawn, and able to disguise himself? Remember ther were ruins of the jedi temple on Thrawn's star destroyer.

Obi-Wan and Yoda looked like they did when they died when they became force ghosts. In this episode Anakin looked younger and in completely different robes than he wore in as a ghost in ROTJ. So I doubt the Anakin we saw with Ahsoka in the WBW is Anakin unless he's a living past Anakin or has force ghost wardrobe powers (there's something I never thought I'd say ).
It's probably Palpatine or Ezra

... so if you aren't enjoying it at this point its probably not your thing, which is okay. We all prefer different things.

This!

This is Rule #287 of TheRPF Rules of Acquisition, the MOST important rule of all. Because, in a nutshell, it helps sum up the reason we are here in the first place.

I proudly award Elevader the Internet for the day.

I don't remember from Rebels, but Palpatine never had access to the World Between Worlds, correct? Also, I would think Ezra would be himself, not present as some other person.

1) It could be Anakin, but from Ahsoka's past
2) It could be a redeemed, post Vader Anakin
3) It could be a manifestation of Ahsoka's thoughts and memories, used to guide her in the World between Worlds, but not the actual spirit of Anakin.

There's a lot here... it would be so easy AND tempting to retcon the entire Star Wars franchise, and make it a Marvel "What If" scenario. If Anakin is from the PAST, then:

1) What if.... Ahsoka tells Anakin that he would turn to the dark side when he helps Palpatine kill Windu? And that Padme would die anyway? And that Anakin would slaughter younglings? And that Obi-Wan would seriously mame Anakin, requiring a living hell inside a technological iron maiden to survive?
2) What if... Ahsoka tells Anakin that Padme has twins, and he needs destroy Palpatine to end decades of struggle and billions of deaths?
3) What if... Ahsoka tells Anakin that he can use the WBW to go back and save his mother?
4) What if... Ahsoka has Anakin help her to find Ezra using the WBW and "pull him out" to save him, the way that Ezra save her?

Those are all good points.

Seeing as I know nothing about sword fighting, does it ever make sense to spin/twirl in the middle of a fight? I get that it looks dramatic, but is it smart?
Most of the time, no, namely because you should keep the pointy thing between you & your opponent.

There have been times that 'in universe', the spinning/twirling has been said to generate power behind the strike, but since SW & the Jedi have strong roots in the Samurai lore, the most realistic (& greatest IMO) lightsaber duel in all of SW was in the REBELS episode 'Twin Suns' between Kenobi & Maul

Loved the episode, but was it really necessary to go so hard on the de-aging for Anakin? It’s not like Hayden is 65, and I don’t remember it being so heavy in the Obi-Wan flashback scene.

Ohh nice - cool, cool - I'll go look it up now...

Yeah, they went a bit hard. But people complained they didn’t de-age him enough in Obi-Wan Kenobi, so I guess they went harder.

Still, we‘ve come a long way since this.

Sounds like Usagi Pilgrim s hype is only getting bigger…. And I am here for it.
LOL

It absolutely is! I know & recognize that it's not for everyone, & I know I get over zealous about my feelings about these shows, but I have overlooked bad effects, bad dialog, & bad acting since 1977, but through all of it, there was much more to love about this world.

I think that's where I differ from some other members here. I love the WORLD of Star Wars, & never placed one character over any others, so you can't "ruin" a character for me. The characters, the props, the ships, & the locations are all just tools for the storyteller to tell me their story. I LOVE the world of Blade Runner, but it sure ain't because of Deckard. SW is much the same for me.

So yeah, I unabashedly enjoy these stories, & I guess my only issue here is the idea that because I & others enjoy what we're watching, then these other fans have to suffer through "garbage/dreck/crap/etc", all because they have such higher standards. I don't care if anyone else is enjoying it, but I've really tried in this thread to let those that do, know that I'm here & more than glad to geek out with them & discuss whatever you want.

I hope you mentioning me was in a positive light, which I think it was, & for that I say a very sincere "Thank You"!

I think it’s real Anakin, he found the WBW. It’s post first Duku fight pre eye scar while training Ahsoka early on. Maybe he heard Balen say “ everyone knew Anakin, not everyone knew what he became, that’s gotta leave a mark” she shows him their fight from Twilight of the Aprentice in the WBW to prove it…

This puts him on the path to be “the one” without the fall. The music queues suggest maybe otherwise but everyone is doing the verse thing these days why not Star Wars.

Either way really exited to see Hayden as Anakin and where this goes next week

Here ya go...

Not to derail, but this is an example of why I like Filoni & tend to 'dismiss' those that look down on the animated Filoni stuff as just "cartoons". The story told in these 3 minutes or so was better than some of the entire shows that SW has produced, but that's not taking away from them at all. It's just that level above.

I mean, look... Maul wants his revenge & keeps probing until he hits the nerve by figuring out why Kenobi is there. Kenobi completely changes from sympathetic compassion for Maul, to determined guardian that knows Maul can't be allowed to live.

He goes into his preferred stance from his youth & then sees that Maul hasn't really matured out of rage, so he changes his stance into Qui Gon's, hoping to draw Maul in. It works & Maul attacks & tries the exact same move that stunned Jinn, with hitting in the face with his saber hilt, but Kenobi sees it coming a mile off & strikes Maul down in less than 5 moves. The entire fight took place in their heads before anyone made a move.

THAT'S ALL FILONI

That's great storytelling & to me that's what Filoni does. That was all him. Between things like this clip & the clip of him sitting with the directors of Mando, explaining why it was wrong for Kenobi to train Anakin show me that he gets it, & I don't care how many try to dismiss him. He's been with George from the beginning of TCW & was picked by him to carry on the vision that GEORGE wanted, & I've personally read enough interviews with them both & seen enough clips of them explaining that vision, that I stand by the belief that he gets it. Personality dismiss it all you want, but it doesn't change it.

What if:
Ahsoka were to gain super powers and travel into the world between worlds by herself? And what if she encountered a new type of water gun while there, one that pressurized the water. Then she would be a
Super Ahsoka! :p
