Steampunk sunglasses

glassessmallbrass.jpg

Here is a pair of gold reflective lense sunglasses with some thin brass side "protectors" I just made.

I used a thin brass sheet and a burnishing tool that embosses the design into it. I might etch a pair later if I can come up with a good design.

Very cool. I'm curious to see what kind of designs you come up with. Would it be possible to send you a pair of sunglasses I already own and have you add the shields? (For a price, of course.) Mine are the old round-lensed Willson style - very John-Lennon-esque.

Could the glasses Johnny Depp wears in Sleepy Hollow be considered Steam Punk in style?

I wonder if someone can make those glasses.

BTW, those glasses from a couple of posts back look fantastic!! :cool

Do you have a screen capture of the Sleepy Hollow glasses, I missed that flick.
Thanks for the compliment.

As far as doing side guards for glasses, I am looking at doing a complete pair of glasses, the pair show in brass just has the guards slid in place. I want to either solder them in place or solder a tab on so they can hinge with the temple pieces.

Sleepy Hollow is a steampunk film. Lighter on the tech, but it's there.
