Studio Scale Stop Motion King Kong Puppet

Being a huge fan of the 1933 film, I challenged myself to build an 18” recreation of the ‘Long Face’ Kong model that Peter Jackson now owns. I’m on a bit of a budget, so the armature is aluminium wire, with a resin cast skull (from a clay sculpture based on the original metal skull). The face was sculpted over the clay skull to ensure the latex casting would slip over the resin skull perfectly. Body was padded out with upholstery foam, with the hands and feet build up with cotton and latex over twisted wire. Faux rabbit fur was trimmed and glued over the foam and then styled with scissors. About 90% there, but posting these progress shots for anyone interested!
