Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Final Steel Concept Page 7*

That cut out logo looks amazing.

Must have been made of Latex with cast, that’s what I am going to do real soon. Only problem is how did you do the pattern? I have pics of the MOS up close and it is definitely not s symbols or diamonds, and from the distance it looks like chain mail; however that is not the case.

quit being babies. routh's costume made him look even MORE like a total doofus. superman is an alien, therefore buckles do not require belts, and suits can have texture on top of textures. we as earthlings may never understand it. i for one think the suit is beautiful, and this superman actually LOOKS super! i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but times change...and so does supermans costume.

This is really cool!!! This makes me want to try this out, making a costume. If I waa, I think I would want to the original MOS costume (from the movie, not just Steel. Lol) but I literally just discovered this and I have NO clue where to start. Haha. PM? :lol

But anyways, this is very very cool!! Go for it bro!!

I think the new suit/costume is amazing. The colors, the shiny tone, and the updated "S" glyph logo. I would love to geek out and have a suit like this for comic conventions. Well to Zack Snyder and his team of costume designers.

After seeing the recent photos of the Man of Steel
costume, is anyone thinking about making this
costume? I really wanna have this costume made
for the premier or even before San Diego Comic-Con.
I just wanna do a few tweaks.

What you guys thinking of doing?

This would be awesome to remake!

I am thinking about doing a Steel take on the suit.
Being half black half hispanic makes it weird wearing the regular
Superman suit. Figured I would dress as Steel. What u guys think?

The Superman suit is made up of separate layers. There’s an under-layer of sculpted detail mounted onto a bodysuit. Over the top of this we stretched a thin mesh over-suit that is printed with a dimensional chain-mail texture. Then, the final foam-latex elements are affixed – the ‘S’-glyph , the cuffs, the side-body details, etc.

We wanted to evoke a “man of steel” – so our metallic finish has an ambiguous quality, as though it’s an alien metal/armour unfamiliar to us on earth. We wanted our Superman to glow on screen, to create a texture that the camera loves, and make him stand apart from the human race.
