Superman, Superwoman and Supergirl!

As the title says, this a thread to show off my Superman costume as well as my fiancee's Super(girl)woman outfit and my step-daughters Supergirl costume . Everything for all of the costumes, minus my boots and my step daughter's boots, were made by either me or my fiancee although I must point out now that she did the majority of the work seeing as I'm hopeless at sewing!

• What inspired you: Seeing as in my normal day to day life I wear glasses, I've kind of always fancied myself as a Clark Kent type Superman has always been an awesome character in my book and someone who I have always wanted to be so it was only a matter of time, once I started Cosplaying, before I decided to do Superman.

• How long it took: Um...A couple of months or so I guess, give or take.

• How much it cost: Between the 3 costumes probably a couple of hundred bucks. More than it would have seeing as we bought a different material originally for my suit (about $100 worth) only to find the PERFECT material about 2 weeks later...Not happy!!

• Specific details for which you are most proud: Um...I made the belt? Seriously though, I'm most proud of my fiancee's sewing work. This was one of the first major sewing jobs she'd done, and it was pretty much from scratch to make it fit me like a glove, so she did an awesome job!

Once I decided I was going to cosplay Superman, my fiancee decided that she wanted to do Supergirl for both her and my stepdaughter as she likes group cosplays, which in the end turned out great because I was planning on proposing to her during the Cosplay Parade at the Oz Comic Con event we were going to, and we ended up entering as a group entry which made things a lot easier organisation wise.


Needless to say that the proposal went well seeing as I refer to her as my fiancee .

The proposal begins, this is around the time she realised what was going on and started kinda freaking out...

Kneeling in lycra and a cape, on stage, in front of hundreds of people...Not the easiest thing in the world .
