a good extra source of reference for you if you like is the profiles in history catalog last year february I think. THey had a 1:1 casting of the head from the bottom of the neck up.
and in person its really something, though because of the material they cast it in it was cracking and little fractures and flacking appeared
but I think I remember someone telling me it was the only known casting
but that would show you another really great angle to sculpt from since it sounds like you want to sculpt, mount and fix yur piece to be right along the same exact lines as that piece
so just an FYI for you~
