Terminator 2

Small update... Painted the teeth white and coated them in a clear epoxy for that wet look. Sanding knee, filling, sanding repeat.. honestly I did the craft foam method to try and save time but regretting that decision, should of just sculpted it.. think I would of had it done by now.. oh well, live and learn. Started to clay up the gun for mold making and started on the broken arm... need to add more greeblies to it such as springs, hoses etc.. but it is a start.

I am very proud and satisfied with my own resin bust, but you cannot beat silicon
Wasn't a slight! For me it is much more fun to work in.. resin can be beautiful, it often lives and dies with the paint job. I am at best "OK" with my airbrush but it really takes talent to paint resin and make it look good, especially skin tones. Silicone is much more forgiving which works for me! I truly admire artists that can take resin and lay down some beautiful paint! Something I struggle with for sure!

Still punching stubble when I can... threw the eye in as a place holder, not permanent yet as it is to blue for arnold and I still got to paint around the eye, tear ducts, etc.... did more of the knee... hating it more and more.. got the ripped arm done, ordered mannequin parts to attach it and detach it for shipping without breaking... made mold of gun... that is about it for the moment...

Got the correct eye done (color), just need to pop it in:

Got hand done... this was done in silicone with wires ran through it so it is fully poseable to hold the m-79 if it ever gets here.. ugh.. endo fingers run in resin and pinned so the joints can move with the fingers.. hand is cammed to be able to take on and off mannequin.

Speaking of cams, I picked up this articulate joint and fit it into the mannequin so Terminator can have an action arm! lol:

Of course the other broken arm is cammed to take on and off for shipping:

Went the route of a clear marble for the endo eye... old school T1 style, I like it:

Thus far... and no the shirt isn't staying, was a test fit.. I got the right tshirt...

Knee is starting it's journey under rubber.. bottom knee with any luck will start it's journey under rubber tomorrow:

Head, wish I was further along!!!!!! Got stubble done.. looking a little like jeffrey statum or razor ramone so will need to cut back the stubble to a shadow... starting the rest of the hair tonight yet... ugh:

Thanks brother! Three years ago I was in an accident that ripped my right bicep off the bone, when they pinned it back in, they introduced bacteria which spread into my bone and after another surgery and all I was left with a severely damaged medial nerve so I haven't been able to hold a sculpting tool much less sculpt for years.. Sucked because I love sculpting... I started with this piece as my way back thinking, even though I initially sculpted a full face for symmetry, I knew I really only had to deal with detailing half a face... Should make it an easy piece to retrain my hand with the bum nerve... In some ways it has been that and I wasn't giving myself any deadline until one was given to me... It has helped strengthen my hand which is a huge plus... Just need to take breaks more often... Anyway, more info than you were sure looking for! Long story short, I appreciate the compliment!

Beaker, this was already an inspirational project, and your personal story makes it even more inspirational!
Thank you!!! I appreciate that! It's been a long road.. Tried water clay.. I hated it and couldn't get it to do what I want.. Zbrush, needs lots more effort and money than I have.. It's been good to make the hand do what I want it to do! Still feels like there is a leather welding glove on it as far as sensations go but it is working and for that I am thankful... Putting pics up online is something I never or rarely did but new start new mentality.. And it keeps me motivated which is awesome by everyone's kind words!!
I already have been handed the next project of sculpting harrison ford as indy with a look of contemplating how much sand he needs to swipe the idol... So I will document that one also when I start...
