The Doctor's "journal of impossible things"

These might help:
(Apologies for the terrible grabs!)

I'd agree on A4 for page size, and a little larger for the cover itself.

Sorry! I forgot the size difference in Britain and America!

Letter sized paper is a completely different ratio to A4. Here is my hand on an A4 sheet:

Here is her hand on the journal:

See what I mean? Its about the same.

Here's my hand holding an A5 sheet - the size that that would make each individual page (when the book is closed.)

Hope this helps. :)

I'm going with A5, which in American standard would be 8.5 x 11.
It also looks as if it has a 1/2" binding, so open surface would then be 8 X 11, which seems to be 'on target'
Okay, I have a large supply of parchment paper, time to get my artistic skills to work and see what I can come up with. The biggest problem for me will be to match the handwriting, which is as much art as anything else.

Also, some of the pics from the screen caps looks significantly different than the flip book on the website. Going with the screen caps.

Stay tuned......

Crikey - this thread has really taken off since I last checked in on sat... I'm soo looking forward to this... we need more caps of the cover to identify it a bit more - i seem to remember the cover was patterned on the front??? I'll check. it would make things so much easier if the actual note book used is commercially available.

I'm pretty sure my wife said that they are coming out with a licensed, limited-edition of this book.

Alright! Started doing some drawing today. I figured I would begin with an easy one to start with.

First, a pic of the screencap.

Now a couple of pics of what I've gotten so far.

I still have a lot of shading to do, some 'tweaking' here and there, and the handwriting is KILLING me! :lol

What do you think so far?

Thanks for the kind wors. I'll keep posted for sure. The handwriting is proving to be the biggest challenge so far. I know that I'm not going to wind up with a 100% dead on replica, but I can settle for 90-95%
This is just pencil right now on parchment paper. (I wanted an older, used look) Most of the shading seems to be watercolor, or ink 'shading-smearing' so I may wait until I ink it, before I begin the 'shading'
Again, thanks for the kind remarks.

Someone dropped this link on OG the other day and I was desperately trying to find it again... well done.
