The MAKING of a Boba Maker ESB FETT HELMET!

Steve, you were the one who inspired me to do it myself and gave me the tools to do so with your tutorial years ago. This new helmet is nothing short of stellar in its own right..

Steve :)

Steve

sorry to disrail slightly RKW I would say that this is the hardest SW helmet to recreate, which one did you have in mind as the most difficult?

Very quickly, the Boushh helmet by far when you also take into account assembly.

Amazing work. I am completely impressed.

Wow, 70hrs of labor already......thats dedication to doing it right.

I feel your pain, that looks amazing.

It took me months to finish my bobamaker and mine was nowhere near as good as that.

Thanks a bunch for the overwhelming response. I'm thrilled that you all seem to like it so far.
I'll try to answere your questions the best I can.

Chewcy,

I'm not going to compare the different pedigrees of the helmets, that would probably be to open the mother of all worm cans. :lol What I CAN say though is that I've seen A LOT of different Boba helmets thru the years and no one compares with BM's as far as craftmanship goes. It's an incredible clean and crisp cast, all the tedious clean up has been taken care of. The visor slot is allready cut and everything comes primed ready to paint. It's a great helmet and I'm proud to have one in my collection.

TK1536,

Yes, I've tried to mask the silver scratches ones. I did not like the result at all, feelt like working with boxing gloves on. I've totally fallen in love with the topical technique since I feel that I can achive a far more detailed result free hand with a brush. The original helmet both had layerd and topical scratches. The grey and purple ones for instance were all topical. Most of the silver ones appears to have been scratched fysical but some were definatly topical. There are people on this board that do nothing else then eat and bread Boba Fett perhaps they care to chim in on this subject.?

RKW;

I'm still masking them and airbrush them on. I don't like the streak pattern that hand painting produces.

Thanks again all, if there's any more questions feel free to ask.

Steve.

Steve, your first Fett ESB paint job was an inspiration to me years ago. I can't tire of looking at your work. Amazing as always.

Thanks for the info, Steve. I've got a Fett helmet on order and in the mean time have began to research the topic heavily.

Everytime I see a fantastic paintjob on another fan helmet, it reminds me why Boba Fett is the best damned Star Wars character every created :thumbsup If it weren't for the sun coming in the back of my house I'd have my ESB Boba display mannequin down in my office.

Awesome job Steve.

WOW :eek ...I've been offline for sometime now, and well to find this.........is just a Treat.....
As many have said before me ...your work is inspirational Steve.....Thanks for allowing us to see this in stages.....BOBAMAKER is so lucky..
