I don't think I've ever posted a thread on this on the RPF before, so here it is. This was a project I completed about 2 years ago during one of the Covid lockdowns in my country. It's a replica of The Philosophy of Time Travel book by Roberta Sparrow from "Donnie Darko". It is bound in maroon acrolin and the cover is stamped with gold foil like the movie book. The book is hardbound like the original movie prop.
Took me a while to track down the right fonts for the Chapter headers and the text. The illustrations below the chapter headers were high res screen grabs which I cleaned up and enhanced. The original prop only had 13 unique pages representing the title page, the Foreword, 8 chapter pages, 2 appendices and a Note page, and I have replicated these pages to the last detail. There are chapter skips in the original prop so I added in the missing chapter headers (blurred out) but without any additional illustrations or text to add to the intrigue. Because of the brevity of unique pages in the original prop, I have repeated the pages several times to make up the book, with the alternate page set also containing handwritten notes (in blue ink) with references to the relevant incidents in the movie. The final chapter contains an explanation of the events in the movie and how The Philosophy of Time Travel applies to those events. The book has a total of 200 pages.
I've also replicated the letter written by Donnie Darko to Roberta Sparrow, in an envelope bearing her name.
Thanks for reading.
