So I put together a cheese little video for the shindig this weekend. It was a chance for all the folks coming to see how the project got started, and gives a view of the progress so far. So check it out and let me know what you think. It basically sums up the last 10 months of work in 5 min 13 seconds!

Thank you. No, the room is F A R from done unfortunately. I have several months of work ahead. My nephew is a HUGE Star Wars fan, and he's coming out to our house for Christmas, so that's my new deadline. I'm not sure even that is enough time . . . I fear it will never be done . . . and I have 1/2 of the basement that I haven't even touched!:cry

This is a complicated question. I had/have a plan, and have documents and drawings of specific things, but I also really wanted the flexablility to just go with it and let the project evolve. (that sounds artsy fartsy but its true)

The backbone, or panels on the walls/window/ceiling/doors were all built off of autocad drawings. the "greeblies" and decor stuff was added in a "fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants" style. I wanted to have fun, but also keep the project on the cheap side. so by just using what I had lying around, and being creative, I was able to accomplish that.

That answers it. I have a room that I have wanting to redo with some sort of theme. This thread keeps me thinking.

Man, I gotta say this just gets better and better. I'm chomping at the bit to get started building on my own geek room. Now that Mike moved to his own place (which is geek in a whole different way) I have a bit of space to shift things around. Until then though I'll keep an eye on your build to keep my motivation going.
