They Live Ghoul / Alien costume

I made this costume in 2017. It's the ghoul from John Carpenter's They Live. I bought a regular blank face mask and some foam sheets. I glued and layered the foam sheets onto the mask to give it texture. For the mouth area, I bought some $1 zombie masks from the dollar tree. I then took special care on the painting. I used acrylic paint and nail polish. I wanted it to be both iridescent and glow in the dark and in a black light. I used a glossy nail polish to give it a skin texture. I also wanted it to start to look real in low lighting conditions. I wanted it to look wet as well. I textured a lot of it with hot glue. I made the neck out of latex gloves. I made the eyeballs out of ping pong balls. I used silver paint to further make it look alien, as if aliens use more metal in their cellular structures.

I had various different suits. I had the standard business suit and watch as seen in the movie, and then I had a home made Star Fleet uniform. The hair is not a wig, that is actually my hair. I repainted a kids uzi, added a fin, and added a glue cap to the nozel to give it a 1950s/60s feel.

I have the face in black in white, under different color filters.

Whoa, this costume is seriously out of this world! The details on the Ghoul Alien look are spot-on—especially loving how eerie it is without being too over-the-top. Perfect balance!
