ThunderCats 2011

I think they look pretty good, I use to love that show. But Lion-O looks a little too young and whoever said Chetara looks too emo, is exactly right lol

I thought this thread was about a live action film :lol

Anyhow, im sick of the whole anime thing.

Yeah, wish those Japanese would just shut down their animation industry eh? They stole the whole 'big eyes' thing from Disney anyhow. I'm sick of the whole Hollywood thing. Can that end too? :rolleyes:lol:rolleyes

This is a winner of a redesign. Chara design on the original show was never its strong point but they've nailed it with this update.

I've seen a lot of people, both here and elsewhere, about the characters looking young but as I understand it they're supposed to look younger than in TOS because this new series is set before TOS.

I'd like to know how it's set before TOS because as far as I'm concerned Lion-O didn't really begin being a warrior really til after the sleep in "Exodus". Prior to was just a kid, but to be the chosen leader of the Thundercats. It just seems all messed up if that's the case.

I'm not nuts about the anime-looking faces, but it could be okay. I still prefer the classic one still. I guess we'll see when the series actually starts.

The intro better be on par with the total bad@ssness of the original. I remember not even knowing why I was so excited about the fast into accompanied by a bazillion lyrical lines of "THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER CATS!!!!!" All I knew is that they were on the move, they were loose, feeling the magic and hearing the roar. That was all we needed to know as kids. The theme was epic, hahaha!

It's pure nostalgia to say that the original looked better than this! They're not exactly iconic characters, but I'd say they still remained very faithful to the original concepts and designs.

We're excited!

I look forward to seeing it. My only real gripe is Panthro, he went from a badass to a bald hulk. :wacko

^this 100%

I'm a DIE-HARD Thundercats fan, and really don't see a need to redo it. But, Snarf is a real improvement....so darn cute...I will love him, squeeze him, and call him George.

I've seen that footage refered to as a test for a movie that never got off the ground, it could just be fan made though.

Ya know, I was a little dubious when I saw the first images (I'm also getting a touch burned out on everything being Anime style these days), but this looks really intriguing. I'm digging the idea that it's set on Thundarra and we might get to see more of Thundercat society than just the handful of survivors that make it to Third Earth. Should make the destruction of Thundarra a bit more poignant as well. :)

I'm officially looking forward to this.
