Walking Dead - Daryl Dixon's New Bike Replica Build

Hi ! I purchased a 1991 Nighthawk 750 in September last year (2019) and a 2014 R6 Front end. Started the disassembly right after. Then during winter I had the wheels and the swingarm sandblasted and powder coated satin black, Then found a used XS650 tank. I also ordered all new hardwares and petcock from XS650direct (here in Canada). I stripped the Honda tank to make some rust test. When I found the right color I did it on the XS tank and clear coated it using Tremclad satin clearcoat. I also found an XS front fender (that will be cut) and a Kickstart.

Anyone else have trouble with the stem/bearings from Cognito Moto? Went into the bottom tree no problem, but I think at least the spacers inside diameter is too small. I have a twelve ton jack, and it can’t touch it.
Sent them an email yesterday....

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Got ahold of them, looks like I got the wrong stem. We are not sure yet if they sent the wrong one or what...but one thing he pointed out is that I got (and ordered) a 2007 fork by accident, not a 2008. Bummer. So now I don't have a flat bottom tree clamp.

If you have a 2008 or later, would one of you mind measuring the diameter of the front fork tube (at the lower non-tapered spot) where the lower tree clamps on? Mine is 52mm, and before I buy a flat 2008 lower tree, I want to make sure it will fit. Thank you!!!!!

Cut the frame last summer. Got the wheels sand blasted and powder coated satin blck, with new Kenda Big Block tires. Got the engine painted also.

Well, not so much "working on" as started and put on hold. In my head I'm still making progress though. It's just that it's hard to find the time to continu.
I've stripped my bike, bought most of the necessary parts and need to get on with the welding (which I'm dreading quite a bit).

Why the question?

Mines not a Daryl replica but very much inspired by it. Just installed these airboxs from steel dragon performance. I'm very happy. They're very similar to TWD bikes

Also I added the European CB750 Seven Fifty oil cooler which is 40% larger , you can use the original hoses.
I have a nice stainless steel guard for it.

I bought a RC42 CDI from AliExpress, the rev limit is higher and the ignition curve is more advanced. I have tested it a lot now and I have to say it has transformed the bike! So much faster now. Takes off in the mid to high rpms like a rocket! I would recommend these mods!
