Wand Co Twelfth Doctor Sonic Screwdriver question

I just received my Twelfth Doctor Sonic Screwdriver remote made by the Wand Company. It's far better than the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor plastic toy versions that I've had up until now. However, one question I have to anyone that might also own one is: Does yours extend incredibly easily like mine does? Pretty much any action like flipping it around in my hand can open it. Is there a way to perhaps tighten up some internal mechanism to prevent it from extending so easily? I'd like to be able to manhandle it bit without it extending, doing anything like this extends it:

Haven't got mine yet, but if you look on Amazon, there are several reviews that talk about that issue. Seems it's a luck of the draw thing. I think someone said something about using a spot of glue, but I don't know if I'd be so brave. Might be able to tighten a screw here or there maybe?

I got mine from Comic-Con, and its tight enough that it doesn't do that. Its probably just the molds for the Die-Cast parts going under some wear.
