Were there any toys actually released for the Original 80's V tv series?.

I don't know how many times took a hard look at that on the store shelves back in the day. The only thing that stopped me was that it was kid scaled. But still very cool!

The smaller V ships were modified as the Triton Corsair for Earth*Voyager and Batris for TNG.
