Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Hello everyone,
I was working Wolverine boots and today we completed a mockup sample.

Well, since I figured we only get one go around on this planet, I might as well? So I did..

The RRL jacket, much, much lighter and bluer green coloring.. and the front slant pockets too help.. the inside is a check fabric which is cool too, but colour wise I still think the brown warmer tones suit me a touch more!

But, it’s a great jacket, and perfect for autumn here in tokyo..

Possibly just cut off at the sleeves? But another small opening for a chance that it’s actually a tee shirt, not a full sleeve that we’re looking for.

Looking closer at the above RRL shirt, it really does look to be the short sleeve version, not the long sleeve, with a black under shirt on with hand warmers too, perhaps for the costume reveal, or just to stay warm? He could roll the sleeves up for filming so the hand cover isn't visible easily enough....

For those of us with the longer sleeve variation, it's the exact same shirt, just with shorter sleeves, so if you professionally cut the arms down it would be the same thing.....I found one of the RRL ones here and picked it up cheap, so I'll post pics when it arrives too...I don't wear the long sleeve one much since I'm never really that cold...

The buttons though, are still a puzzle...They changed them, either resewn on, or painted darker, probably to stop a clear change on screen so it all blends better in the dark of the bar, but I'd like to see the screen used item...I've searched for this in the faded grey with black buttons and not found it....So...

Has anyone ever positively ID’d any of the clothes (aside from the boots and vest) from The Wolverine? Mostly interested in this outfit as well as the denim shirt he wears in the later half of the film.

Would also love to know if someone has confirmation if they were custom made for the film from someone that worked on the film so I can give up my search!

The denim shirt I've searched hard for, but nothing exact hit me....Closest I got was an LL Bean jean shirt with the one open topped left pocket on it, but the button placement was just slightly off, so I still don't think it's an exact match..

Without any other angles the jeans are pretty hard to ID. A tag is poking out behind the belt, but could be any number of brands. The belt is another RRL though for anyone interested :)

coop5150 The tag seems to match Polo jeans, Jackman's pair has a distinctive design where the back pocket stitch lines up with the front pocket rivet, and also the belt loop nearly touches the pocket's stitches. Narrowing down the brand should make it easier to find these details, not impossible but still might take a bit of time

I quite liked the look of the belt, so decided to get one, and will post pics once it's here, tomorrow sometime, shipping from Kyushu it seems....The distressed look of it is something I can see myself wearing and although it's up there in cost for what it is, the recent films clothing has all been expensive (for no real reason), so why not? It's an interesting looking belt anyway....

Can't wait for the review and you touched on something that I thought of as well I don't understand why they need to buy super expensive wardrobe especially when it's just a plain weathered belt that could be easily obtained through Wrangler or Levi's or even more of a Western Wear like Justin or other Western apparel even when it comes to simple things like jeans or shirts it's always some high-end designer brand which usually the character wouldn't even remotely wear LOL I think a lot of money could be saved on a wardrobe sometimes for these simple characters just by going online or even ordering from larger retail stores. Still would love to see Wolverine and yellow and black plaid like in the comics as well as the X-Men cartoon along with either a trucker style jacket with the lambskin collar or even fleece collar would look really good for the character.

I have no evidence of this, but I suspect it's got a lot to do with the brands Hugh Jackman just likes wearing (recently, more than back in the days)...For DOFP he had the AG Jeans, a brand he's seen wearing in public a lot, and this time it's RRL and Ralph, another brand he wears fairly commonly in public too....I'm not saying he keeps it ALL, but it might be just that he likes this brand, knows it works for him, feels comfortable, and so he runs with that, rather than being TOLD what to wear by a bigger studio who don't care as much? It's a lot of cash to spend on a set for a five minute part of the movie...So getting some comfort, or longer term use out of it would make a little sense...Even if a bit of a waste of cash...(But they spend SO much on these films now, that that also, maybe doesn't matter as much as it should too?)

Definitely a good theory and does make sense.

The belt is lovely to wear, I like wider belts, and the softness of this one is super too, the aging of it looks great, so it’s a stand out there too, although, the plain buckle means there’s not a whole lot going on aside from the amazing leather.. is it as cool as say X1? Nah, not even close, as interesting as design as X2/origins? Nooooo way, miles less interesting, but as far as cool looking leathers go? This belt will work well with the indigo jacket and a shirt to work for me, so as a more subtle look? It’s a fun way to do it.. cool, but not worth the cash unless you’re a leather fan.. and even then..
