A champion high school girl's soccer team gets stuck in the wilderness after a plane crash for 19 month. They have to survive starvation, the elements and each other lol. 25 years later the survivors are still dealing with the consequences of the past. Lynskey, Cypress, Lewis, Thatcher, Ricci, Nelisse, Kole, really everyone in this so far is great. I'm almost halfway through season one and enjoy it as messed up as it is lol. Did anyone else watch this?

I watched it. It turns into a right mess and there’s no logical progression of the story or any attempt to address what the opening teased. Its like LOST, but with absolutely no pay offs on the way. And on the way to what? I’ll avoid any further seasons.

I really enjoyed it. It was pitched as a five season arc, so expecting it to fully wrap up in the first season is...well...stupid.

I liked the mix of what MIGHT be supernatural but MIGHT just be a bunch of scared, cold, starving teenage minds with the mystery in the present of what exactly happened to Travis.

The casting for the adult versions of the teenagers is pretty incredible. It had a couple of twists that I didn’t see coming, and maybe I watched a different show than the guy above me, but the story very clearly progressed and very clearly started moving towards exactly what happened in the opening scene of the first episode.

Didn't know it was pitched as a 5 season arc, I quite enjoyed it, but my girlfriend felt a bit frustrated that we didn't get very far in the story at the end of the season. Not a huge fan of Natalie's adult actress, the liking is a bit of a miss while almost all the others are just spot on. Misty in particular ! Even character wise, I get that she just fell off the wagon all the way, but It's harder to connect her to teenage Natalie than the others.
Will definitely watch s2 when it will come out though

I watched the first couple episodes and thought, isn't this 'Alive'? At least i think that's what it was called - the story of the south american soccer team who's plane crashed in the andes and they had to eat the dead to survive? Seemed like a version of that but with a HS girls team.

I just finished the last episode of season one. How everything played out with Shauna's husband and the election outcome were a bit predictable but most everything else really worked well. I especially liked how they handled Jackie/Shauna in the end of the last episode. Definitely watching season two.

I entirely agree, very well done. That type of balance is difficult to achieve and this show nails it pretty well. I hope it remains ambiguous in that respect.

I never got around to watching Alive but will probably check it out to see how similar they are and Ethan Hawke and John Malkvovich are in it.

Now that you’ve finished it I wanted to post something I noticed...

We had eight NAMED girls that were still alive after Jackie died.

We know that Shauna, Taissa, Misty, and Nat all made it out.

We also know Lottie made it out, after the very end of the season.

That means we have Van, Akila, and Mari that were named but we aren’t sure if they’re alive.

I’m going to guess all three are, and all three are “with” Lottie.

Gives us four on each side of what will probably be some kind of split we’ll see this next season.

I wouldn’t be surprised if our next season shows us a lot of what’s happened in the present with those other four...

Thank you for waiting, very kind. That's totally plausible...

They didn't confirm their deaths for a reason so I'm on board with that. They have to have more than Lottie surviving.

I think Van is going to have larger role as well. She's shown looking down into the pit over the body in episode one (in the Coed Naked Tee shirt) and with Lottie & Misty at the end which has to have some significance.

Javi could've survived as unlikely as that many seem. I really doubt he's dead. They're going to need his death later to further another rift between Travis and Natalie.

Taissa being consciously involved with Lottie's cult seems like a misdirect.

Jackie's story seems far from over and I wouldn't be shocked if she survived the freezing.

I don't know how many people know this yet, but in a journal Shawna sees in Jackie's bedroom under the list of "Chracters I would be from a movie" or something like that, her number one choice is Rose Dawson from Titanic. Which, as we all know, was thought to have froze to death by everyone at the end of the movie. Could be nothing, but I'm hoping she ends up surviving. I guess we'll know when it shows what they do with her corpse.

Showrunners have stated this was NOT some kind of mistake, either.

I believe that we will see that Shauna filled it out when she’s go to visit Jackie’s parents.

I honestly don’t want Jackie to be alive. I think that would be a cop out on the part of the writers. Shauna’s reaction to her death was one of the most powerful moments of the season, and the type of thing that really can shape what a young person’s life turns out to be. Having her have somehow survived cheapens that entire scene, by a very large amount.

Very true, it would cheapen that moment very much so. To do that after Van's close call would set a precedent of all deaths being extremely suspect. I just read something a few minutes ago that Jackie is likely going to continue to be in the show. Hopefully only through flashbacks.
