Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

I think there was one on COW a few years back.
Big debate on whether the "torch" dart had single or double barbs.
I see double barbs.

Several of the auctioned off rubber tipped darts where fat blunt things.

Then there are the wall spikes (Forestal) that are longer.

Thanks you guys. I've always wanted one. I do not mind making it. Good references are a must. The provided pics are most helpful.

My new AVINTAGE (from Germany) Raiders of the Lost Ark Indy hat (I didn't like the worn look version as the hat seemed to clean itself back to new as soon as it got dirty in the movie) so I went with new quality in sable (rabbit).

Does anyone remember a thread about the Raiders arrows or darts? I cannot find it or I imagined it.
Any good references?

for mine I just gathered picture references from google and made a couple of “idealize” arrows from the intro. I’ll post some pictures later.

DeLano80, here’s how mine came out and how it made them:

I drew a template on paper and transferred it to pink instillation foam. Cut and shaped, then I used a cut pen to attach the wood dowel to the foam. The pen was just glued in place.

lastly I used spray adhesive and very fine dirt to create the texture. After that, just finished with painting.

Does anyone know the model of the kerosene lamp that appears in the jonev Indy scene with the Cross Of Coronado...???

Kerosene lamp looks like a Dietz #2. Much the same as the Evil Dead one. But definitely a Dietz if you can find the model. Book Of The Dead - The Definitive Evil Dead Website

May not be the No.2 as the handle looks straight rather than rounded, but Dietz lantern will put you on the right path to find the model.

There are a bunch of variations of Dietz lanterns, even within each model line, and there are a lot of models that are really close. In current production, the Dietz Little Wizard is close, and may even be the right one. It has the short globe, chimney holes, the fill cap on the base, strong angle to the sides, and the right globe shape. It's about 12" tall, with the regular Wizard being larger, around 15". The Jupiter is close, but the base is wrong.

Annoyingly, it's also been sold as a Ham Nu-Style, Dietz D-Lite (Different then earlier D-Lites). The Little Wizard is 3/4 size, and depending on the vintage, can look way different.

Etsy is the best place to find items as these for low value.

When I got my Evil Dead lantern model from there though, there was a lot of cleaning involved. Out of some barn no doubt, with old spider skins etc in every nook and cranny. Wanted to turn it into a desk lamp, but could never find a bulb good enough. Having recently seen Adam Savage's lantern one-day build recently, and the bulb he got that can work off batteries, I need to revisit the project.

EJT501 awesome man! BTW careful with that buzz cola. I had a 6 pack in my closet for a few years. The cola leaked through the bottom. The acid will eat through the interior lining of the aluminum.

Someone has done some brush career that Indy uses...???

I decided to take another crack at this, found a wallpaper paste brush with 1 3/8" x 7/8" x 6" of body plus the handle. There's a bunch of manufacturers of these, so it;s just a matter of finding one with enough meat to cut down. Since we don't have actual measurements I figured this was close enough. To my eye is looks like a D shape rather than a true semi-circle. Unfortunately these only come with natural color Tampico bristles so I had to dye them, Rit dye didn't go quite as dark as I'd like but it is darker in person than in the photo. Final dimensions are 3 5/8" x 7/8" x 1 3/8", with 3 1/4" bristles.

Edit: this is what I started with:

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I had a six pack on a shelf in my old room at my mom's house, one day I went over to get them to put in my display at my house and a couple of them had leaked all over. It was a mess. Luckily, it didn't get on my box of Krusty-O's.

That looks great. Definitely close enough for me for a minor prop.
