Using parts I created I was able to convert this Evike blaster into what was seen on screen in SOLO:ASWS..

really nice ive always been a fan of this. did you fabricate the side plate yourself?

Thanks! Ya I designed all the parts very specifically to duplicate the SOLO prop as close as I could. You’ve seen my SOLO:ASWS design/build thread right? I break it down even there more so but as u probably already know that left side plate is different from the the one they used in TFA as it’s a different airsoft. It has subtly different details and I use 3 individual parts to complete it. But using the right materials and taking ur time it’s does come out looking pretty mint..

Got a link? I’ve seen a few side plate builds but can’t recall if I watched yours

Did you use metal?

Did you use metal?

No you honestly don’t want to use metal for this as you need to shape it. Metal heads will be offended by this and that’s truly not my intention. But in order to get it seamless you need to add filler and then sand it down. So you need to be able to manipulate it as much as possible and metal would only inhibit you in this case. I use a material shapeways offers called “fine detailed plastic” and the results speak for themselves..

Here is that link to this “SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY” conversion thread I created over a year ago. In it you can see all the parts I had designed up and needed to covert this Evike into the Solo blaster. It starts on post #212 if the link doesn’t take you right there..

Do you have these files on shapeways to be purchased?

Just incase anyone is interested in the materials used for this build. The left side replacement is the “fine detailed plastic” as it’s easy to shape while the rest is the white “natural Versatile Plastic” with the two part grille..
