I just discovered that there is a company called Kaytee that makes pet exercise spheres that are 13".

The Kaytee Run About Ball is available in various sizes. It is not a closed sphere so covering the holes will be the main challenge. It also costs less than $50 unlike glass globes or acrylic hemispheres.

Yow! I dunno - filling in all those holes would be a tremendous time-consuming hassle, it seems to me.

It looks like a little tape and a little Bondo could solve that in about 20 min.

Anyway, that is just one idea.
