Ant-Man

"You weren't there at the beginning. You don't know how good it was! How important! This is it for you! This jumped-up firework display of a toy advert! People like you make me sick! What's wrong with you?"
What about the Ewoks? They were rubbish! You don't complain about them!

Ha..:lol.

When Shaun of the Dead got released and the buzz was catching on, I read about Spaced and managed to catch it online. Loved it and was a Wright/Pegg/Frost fan since then. Few months later finally caught up to the movie and became a bigger fan of Wright. And when I saw Scott Pilgrim it just solidified his position as one of my current top favourite directors.

This is definitely disappointing news. I still have faith in Marvel and the MCU that it'll be a decent movie. I mean they haven't made a bad movie yet in the MCU (although that can be argued. I definitely think they haven't made a boring movie yet). I have faith in whoever the new director will be will do a great job.

However, having Edgar Wright would've been absolutely fandabbydozy and this does put a damper on things.

Nothing wrong with an oatmeal cookie.
But when you've been expecting crème brûlée it's a little anticlimactic.

Wright tweeted the following.

edgarwright: Selfie.

fanboy petition?

even if it doesn't change a thing Edgar deserves some appreciation

Petition won't do any good, as there is no way those suits will revert to Wright with their bloated egos.

But getting the buzz through memes is a good idea to show support to Wright, as those are more prone to catch on. Ever since Whedon's photo tweet, I been thinking maybe fans can start posting photos of themselves with a Cornetto or photoshopped images of existing characters with a Cornetto or something to that effect.

But for many it's more about the brand (Marvel) rather than the people behind it like Wright, so not sure if it can really take off. I too have the loyalty towards Marvel Studios, but besides the characters it's these creative individuals is what I admire and cherish more.

What will really make it better now is if Universal announces a new movie with Wright directing it. They distributed all his prior movies and also produced Scott Pilgrim. And now with the backing of Legendary Pictures, Universal can truly get back into making more big budget films whether it is franchise films or original standalone genre films.

Well that selfie looks like it's inviting Cornetto memes.... let's do it.

Cool, I will try to come up with something by tomorrow. If anybody has any creative inputs or can create similar themed images, please share.

And looks like it's already begun.

Ditto. I'm thinking King Kong, Charlie Chaplin, ... Pulp Fiction... I'm on the road with the kids at the moment.

Noooooo... Ha.. but it's a great one :). And though it's not really a spoiler anymore, I still hate to promote that image and give away that scene in anyways. Also irks me whenever they use it for promotions or packaging design, like NECA is doing with their figures.

"You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! ******** you all to hell!"

Wright deleted his Buster Keaton tweet with the Cornetto. I was in the midst of creating something like a contest to drive that meme idea on Twitter. Now I am guessing he probably doesn't want that kind of attention. He retweeted Whedon's tweet when it was posted and that's the last thing on his timeline.

I wonder why?

A). He wants to put it past him?
B). If there is a Twitter movement maybe he doesn't want to be perceived as an instigator?
C). Maybe there's some sort of reconciliation in the works with Marvel (that may or may not involve Ant-Man) and doesn't want to antagonize them?

Exactly, my thoughts. It's probably a combination of A and B. The tweet was deleted by him few hours later on the same day.

Reconciliation with Marvel could also be a reason. Currently there may not be any such plans but he probably wanted to keep his options open.

And maybe he decided he didn't want to show and acknowledge that he was in hurting.

BTW he apparently has a movie (The Night Stalker Remake) still in early stages of development with Disney starring Johnny Depp.
