This build is amazballs. You simultaneously inspire and discourage me as I have niether the patience or the skill for something of this caliber. But this motivates me. That said I eagerly await the finished product. Keep up the good work sir

Can't wait to see the finished product with some black symbiote goodness mixed in with the red! I'm almost scared to ask how much it would cost to commission one of these, but if you want to shock my PM box, feel free :p

hey

so i went back into carnage and brought back some og that detail i worked so hard on . this method allows you to fix and patch things easily at this level of build , and really any part of it you just have to fix top coat. the latex has red tint from monster maker , love the color (only base) and very tough hard to rip but you can slice with sharp blade to alter. ..off to black. 20131205_084500.jpg20131205_084505.jpg20131205_084520.jpg20131205_084531.jpg20131205_084543.jpg20131205_084625.jpg20131205_084632.jpg20131205_084658.jpg20131205_084708.jpg20131205_084737.jpg20131205_084817.jpg20131205_084838.jpg20131205_084849.jpg

So the different color layers were so you could see how well each layer was covered? Great idea.
How many layers of latex will the finished Carnage have?

did bout 2 of each layer. leaving off with black . now i will do the red pattern using that black as background. coloring the layers was huge help and ensured a consistant layers

such a cool costume :) I imagine it will be extremely hot to wear though?

not sure too small for me , i vented it pretty well and my girlfriend said it wasnt too bad . im sure on a hot day in the sun it would suck..

that is flex foam three . my first time using it and i love it. ill continue using it for sure.

Does the latex tend to weigh down the foam? Just going off of the photos, the completed suits tend to have lower-sitting deltoids compared to the pre-latex photos. On this Carnage, it helps to keep the model looking lean while muscular, but on that earlier Hulk build, the model loses some of its intimidating posture and looks a bit like it's slouching. Or perhaps it was all in the posture/photo angle.

I'm really impressed with the anatomy otherwise. I wasn't sure this level of detail in musculature was possible with hand-carved foam.

yes it does shrink wrap a little i planned for that and it kindve what appealed . makes for interesting skin and you can adjust it layer over and repair fairly easily . the hulk is etreme for two reasons. i put too layers experimenting with it and , the client made alterations and requested i dig it out from behind deflating the shoulders i was disappointed , but learned a lesson.
foam can be manipulated really well i did the whole sculpt with a utility knife and pair if scissors, another rpf member suggested a product made bt red devil , a metal sanding sheet that apparently smooths foam lie a rasp.
i tried clay for firts time and casting. ill end up going that route later but ill experiment with foam a little longer..venom is next so push a little further then

thanks
