Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

I AM IRONY MAN! I've come here to point out the IRONY that the poor little tree you're willing to hunt down and PAY MONEY FOR was supposed to represent an antidote to the crass commercialism of Christmas -- a big, soulful message in the original "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!" special.

The fact that the "poor little tree" is now being mass-marketed at Walmarts, Sears, etc. .... that's just a whole lotta sad.

IRONY MAN, AWAY!

They're on sale this week at Kroger under $10, as we bought one last night. I've also seen it this year at CVS and Target. Also, new this year at Urban Outfitters is a mini version of the same tree. I was at Urban Outfitters tonight at Lenox Square Mall and they only had the mini version, not the full-sized version.

Pumpernickel

I've had mine for a few years now and love it! It never fails to get a ton of attention when people see it. I actually bought some light blue fleece to wrap around the bottom, looks just like the scene from the show. :)

-B89! :D

I loved the discussion here back in 2006 when there was a big thread arguing about whether this was a replica prop or not. :lol

That depends. Would you call the toys from Toy Story props?
(and here we go...)

Haha...good point Arc60!

Well just checked Wal Mart, Home Depot and Sobeys. Nada.

Oh well.

Good grief!!! That's the best sad-looking christmas tree I've ever seen! Is this thing a licensed replica?

A quick search for Charlie Brown on sears.ca turned up nothing but a $41 womens swimsuit (model not included) :angry

Check Home Hardware and Canadian Tire. They seem to be all sold out here. :(

Hot Dog! Been looking for one of these for the past couple years. Found one at our local Kroger store for $ 9.99.
