The starting point for this build was a 12” figure of the Cyber Controller that my son has in his toy collection.
He was never really very keen on this figure as he hadn’t seen the Episode from whence it came, “The Age of Steel”, as it was deemed to be too scary for him to watch at a tender age, when it was released.
After completing a few other models for him I had quite a few scrap pieces of insulation foam leftover and whilst not wanting to throw either the figure or the foam away, I thought I may be able to gain his interest in the Cyber Controller by trying to show him in his best light, altered slightly and atop his Throne!
Having purchased the 5" character options Cyber Controller Set for him, all I had to do now was make sure that everything about this 12” Throne looked the part and matched the toy, including being able to play with the figure as well as being able to have it mounted on the throne.
But to add a little something, I thought I just had to make it light up, just like the real thing on set.
So a Cyber Controller Throne from scraps of insulation foam, in the vain hope that it will bring the character to life for him, no pressure then!
I hope you like the results.
First; The Cyber Throne itself.
Below a detail shot showing the Front Details;
Attached below detail shots of the Throne Interior;
Next, the Altered Cyber Controller in his Throne;
The Lighting, including the reason for altering the Cyber Controller;
Shots showing a 360 degree rotation of the model;
A few detail shots;
A comparison to the 5" Toy set;
And finally, a short video of the completed Throne and altered Cyber Controller, watch out for the surprise ending!
