Cyclops' Visor- X-Men (2000) - Revisited w/ New Photos

It looks really good. I would say that a lighter color would be more accurate. It's not pure black in the movie... it's more of a metallic graphite color. Kind of a metallic grey. The model is excellent, by the way.
Thank you!
The lighting in those photos isn't the best, but it actually does have a graphite rub over it.
I will say that it adds a bit of gloss to it, when I should have probably used a matt grey then a very light graphite dusting.

So after two years I decided to completely redo my visor to,
1/ Fix all/most of the inaccuracies I had in my original model and,
2/ Finally make a mold so I can cast them in my favourite Easyflo resin from Arachnidfx.

So the laptop I had modelled the original file on has crashed and I had removed it from etsy, so I had a slow start. I did manage to find an earlier iteration I had saved on hard drive, so I printed that as a base with the intent of finishing it by hand.
I printed a low resolution version and went to work sanding it and adding the new details with Milliput or just cutting them out.

Once I had them as smooth as I wanted after a few weeks of sanding, I printed jackets for a matrix mold and made a few low mess molds for the pieces.

I'm gonna make a few more pulls over the next few days, and testing colours. I have this lively vallejo gun metal that should match the screen used ones, with a bit of navy added in. We will see how it goes

This is as close as I'll get on this turn around this prop, for the base model anyway. Still lots of messing around with paint and lenses though.

Here is the mount I printed to hold the three leds in place. Two 5mm flickering red on either side, in sequence with a 40mm filament Led in the centre.

Turned out amazing! I wish someone would do the Radarlock, haven't seen a good replica of that yet.
I'm waiting for someone to mod those, too. I've had a pair for a while and that's beyond my skill set. It's the last pair I need to complete my "Marsden Cyclops" collection, as well.

I looked into getting a custom pair made but the lab I used for the Ruby Quartz lenses didn't do the larger one piece lenses.

Just a note on the X1 visor. The rivet holes you have on yours is only foudn on the prototype version of the visor. THe screen used visor had these smoothed over.

Oddly though there is a small hole that was added to the left ear cup to hold the radio microphone from the end of the film.
