Darth Maul Fabric and Patterns??

The outer robe should be wool, I was just concerned with the Tunics.

I was just going to say that the outer cloak looks like a wool. The tunics look like a nice and slubby raw silk. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that is was confirmed that the screen used costumes were raw silk noil. Shouldn't be too hard to find some in that tan-ish color.

But was not said that the inner tunic was linen? :wacko Oh! About Qui-Gon! I will post pics and the fabrics I saw at the Exhibition in a few hours ;)

Eopie and I probably should have talked through PMs. We had a slight digression from Maul for a couple posts and were talking about Qui-Gon. Maul's tunic is linen. :)

I have the inner tunic patterned and done, but my printer went haywire. I would like to print them and test them before I release them.

Take a look and see what you think...

That photo of Qui-Gon's inner tunic shows it to be a knitted fabric That is very cool as I have been pondering the use of a few interestingly textured knits for a Jedi ensemble myself :)
It looks like a fairly loose single knit.

Watching the Maul info with great though purely academic interest. Although it is giving me ideas on what to make my Maladi costume from :)

Ya, the INNER inner tunic resembles a textured knit cotton. The outer tunic is DEFINITELY a raw silk noil.

IIRC Trisha Biggar confirmed in Dressing A Galaxy that Qui Gon's outer tunics were silk noil and the inner tunics were made out of a jersey silk bourette.

In other news - awesome job on this thread Kwally!

No worries! Research threads always get weighted down with tons of info and off topic facts....have you seen the Joker thread on TDH that I started a year ago?? Uhhhh, it had thousands and thousands of posts and took about 3 minutes to load each page on high speed.

You can upload them with photobucket. It is free and a very nice website.

Thanks in advance,

Updates?

Thinking of tackling a lifesize Maul display with a GINO/Cyberman bust.

Sounds like the Maul costume is super easy to just throw together!...:lol

thanks

I know that Kwally89 has been really busy with some real world things that has slowed down his progress on making the patterns, but he has assured me that he is close to being done.
