Female Yautja build - (wip)

I got the spear all completed this weekend aside from a coat of clear. Here is what I was going for.

Here is where I wound up. I knarwled up the end a bit. This sculpt sat I'm our kitchen table while I was working on it and my family kept commenting that it look like a part of the male anatomy. It took some working the clayd to get away from that !

I got this really cool powder coat. It turn a run of the mill silver chain into a perfect match for this spear.

I have the blade gauntlet all primed and ready for a once over before paint. I cut the centers out of the blades and it looks really cool. They did not loose much strength at all.

The computer gauntlet is all painted and I'm waiting for a day in Florida that it's not 1000% humidity so I can clear coat it with it turning white.

I WANT one of those spears... like now! Fantastic work!

I love the blade gauntlet too... if you can retain that slender sleek look with your two-part version I am all over it. :)

I never had any luck with the rattle can clear coats. It never seems to dry to a hard finish and I'm always fighting the humidity and milky clear color. I've been testing Minwax Polycrylic clear with very good results. It dries hard and clear no matter the application thickness or humidity. I did the computer gauntlet with it and 2 coats gave me a nice deep shine.

I also worked out the issue with the bad vents from the initial mold. I molded them separate and just cut out the bad areas. I still need a bit more blending on these but they should come out nice and detailed.

As a sort of side project I have been working on a 2 piece version of these gauntlets that will fit a larger size arm. I'm think about making a set for me. Here is the 2 piece clamshell design. This will be nice because it will allow my to strap the gauntlet on tight and then the bottom piece will hide he straps. I just need to figure out how to join the two for a nice clean and solid mount joint.

Fantastic work!

Just out of curiosity, what is the approximate diameter at the back of the two piece gauntlet? I'm trying to work out whether it would fit me based on the measurements I gave you

Wow, you all have great talent and patience. I have a set of gauntlets someone else made and I find them quite daunting to prepare even though someone else already made them. Nice work, to say the least...

I got all the color painted on the mask. This was my 1st time using the air brush and painting a mask and I'm pretty happy with the results but I have been staring at this far some time trying to figure out the spot patterns with nothing coming. I finally had to put it aside and hope it comes to me later. I also need to figure out to mold the quills. They need to be really small and flexible.

I ran through every tool in my extensive dremel tool case trying to find the best for cleaning up the latex mold seam. These 2 tools worked the best. The small course drum removed the material really nice at a high speed. The nylon bristled brush did a good job of cleaning up the roughy edges left from the sanding drum.

I believe there is some sort of metallic loop on the Shelaa statue which is attached to the two "tubules" at the back end of the blade gauntlet... I just noticed it the other day...

Ya I saw that and it looked a bit out of place so I left it off along with the big copper rivet head on the first arm band. This design is Sheila rev 2 - sleeker and badd'er with a computer gauntlet and less cleavage.

Since your incorporating some minor battle damage to the blades, would you consider adding some, paint-wise, like rusting etc...to the gauntlet? To give it a more battle tested look?

My thoughts X2.
