Here's what I am seeing.

That first screencap was one of mine... word. I'm surprised people are still using those 2 years later. I knew someone would want it.

Do you have any info about it? would be great if you did as we are drawing a blank and its looking like scratchbuild rather than screen accurate.
cheers

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am pretty sure I just found the elusive PDA that we want tonight. I have a picture of it on my camera phone so when I get home (am at my girlfriends) I will post pics. I think the search for that part is over, now for the "rubber sleeve".

No info about them. After the DVD came out way back when... 2003 I think some people asked for screengrabs so I supplied. I put them all here:
http://jesse.mrozowski.com/firefly.html

I was just impressed someone had actually saved or remembered the website.

YOU'RE the guy.

I saved those images a while back and completely forgot which of you wonderful gentlemen posted them -- thank you so much..

(and sorry about the lack of credit initially. :$ )

AHHHHH....I am going to kill my cell phone. I took the pics but now I can't get them off the phone onto the computer, and stupidly I didn't commit any of the info to memory thinking "why remember it when I have photos?" ANd of course on the dinky cell phone screen I can't read anything on the bloody thing.

If I can't get the images off the phone I will definitely head back to where I saw it and find out the particulars. I swear I saw it...really...I'm not just making it up. LOL

Oh, also I should mention that the black top piece I think is something that comes with it. I didn't have much time to examine the package unfortunately.

Regarding the Palm type n go, does it matter what model Palm it's for?

Cant you give us any clues :cry we are all going to rush onto ebay now to find this particular pda :)

That's good work Osmatic, and don't take this personally, but I hope you're wrong. None of those have color screnes. If that turns out to be the right device then it proves the scene images are CG. :cry I've been researching utilities to program PDA interfaces so that once someone develops acceptable art work (and several folks are well on their way at this point) we can make a device that functions just like the one on the screen.

Now, we can still get close by using a different device that has a color screne... It won't be screne accurate of course. I'm still hoping that we discover this is an actaul device and a CG overlay.

Again, good work Osmotic. I still hope further research turns up a color model or another device that fits the bill.

IÂ’d be very surprised if they actually programmed a device for this task. I think youÂ’ll find it was simply a CG image.

Osmotic found the exact same ones as me. LOL I guess he'll be getting the credit on this one...damn my stupid cell phone. ;)

I guess there's no need to get the photo I took, thanks for posting those links Osmotic, I should have committed the make to memory so I could have shared it with you guys last night. I had actually first seen the model that you posted on the first link and I almost crapped myself, then upon further looking I saw the correct one. If you see one in person you'll see that they have a plastic cover that slides over the screen and is the mystery part at the top as is seen in the photo I just found on line (thanks to Osmotic posting the name so I no longer had to try and remember)

That one is blue but you get the idea.

RedTwoX, unfortunately it's already been discussed that the screen was CGI, as mentioned in in previous posts, you can see that the lip around the screen itself is uneven. Plus the cost to actually program a device (especially in 2001) would have been probably 100 times the cost to juct CGI it. But that doesn't mean that you couldn't modify something and replace the screen of the Fraklin Electronic Rolodex to have it functioning if you wanted.
