Fritz Lang's Metropolis Whole at Last! (Prop discussion)

OK, I've come to the conclusion that this map is indeed, made of individual pieces and then taped (or glued) together. I'm leaning toward tape. I've circled several places where the drawing lines do not line up with each other, which they would if it were one big piece, folded.

If it is taped, it is very thin tape... 1/8 or maybe 3/16 inch.

yeah, the offset you see between the pieces proves they are cut up and separated out by the spacing you see between them, if it was tape covering the map, those lines would all line up pefectly, or you could at least follow each line to the next.

My Yoshiwara flyer and map of the catacombs, with the money from earlier in this thread.

Looking at the pictures of the map I think it's not taped but the paper pieces are glued to a piece of fabric so that the map can be folded repeated without being damaged like paper would.

You can see a little bit of fraying on the bottom right along the edge similar to how fabric would fray along a cut edge.

Oops! I just saw the last few comments mentioning using tape and wasn't aware that cloth was mentioned earlier.

Nice. I came across one of my Metropolis banknotes just a few days ago while cleaning up around the house. I think I did them in Photoshop at the time, which horrifies me now :)

It has a foxing on it, so it's going into my wallet, for old times' sake.
