GREEN HORNET "Sting" Gas Gun: A Build Log

I thought the readers of this post might enjoy some recent takes on the sting gas gun. These are from an upcoming November comic...

Okay, not quite there. In my final pre-glue fitting, it turns out the top hose was too tight a fit. This required some adjustments of the hose and the rear bracket.

(You can see above how I had to bend the top hose to wedge in the canisters.)

The good news is that I was able to peel off the bracket with some force, validating the use of E6000 as an adhesive that holds to metal tightly enough but won't damage the Denix!

New top hose and rear bracket printing!

Yeah I’m liking that glue a lot ever since you pointed me to it. Crazy how that top hose still needs adjusting. It looked perfect in round 6…

Much progress today!

First, I glued in the permanent parts with CA glue:

Then the canisters were wedged in (botttom-first). Some were looser or tighter than others, but all hold tightly enough to wave it around!

Here's a video with me doing just that:

Next steps:
  • Add the front hose.
  • Touch up paint where needed.
  • Weather the dark parts
Almost there!

Looks great. Really great job with the fit of the bracket and the top rail on the Denix. You can really appreciate it in the video.

The V2 of the front hose is a tight fit, but it works fine!

Needs magnets and a black satin finish.

Also, light weathering of the entire gun is done. This is a combination of silver drybrush over almost all the raised surfaces, plus silver marker on key edges and corners.
