I recently managed to get a great deal on a whole calfskin and so I thought I'd see if there was any interest in maps done on real calfskin parchment. I've done a couple of these in the past and they both turned out really nice, so I do like the share the wealth when it comes to cool stuff. Here's some pics of the last one I did:
All the figuring and 'weathering' is part of the skin itself, not something I've done to it, and so each one would be unique in appearance. I'd be looking at a price point of around $300 per map (measuring 16" x 12"). As there's no way to print onto the material each one will have to be hand drawn, further making each one unique.
They look pretty spectacular framed up too!
