Hi All!

My daughter is going to be leia bespin for Halloween (she is 3) and last night told me she wants me to be Luke.. I want to do it for her, but our halloween budget this year is pretty much blown!

I figure Luke Tatooine wouldnt be too hard (THis is just the neighborhood, not SDCC) so I dont have to be crazy on-point... I have tan pants and brown shoes... Here is where I am stuck -

What is Luke's "Shirt" style called? Its kind of a Karate Gi, but I only see them online for 30-40$ and I want something cheaper...

Also the lightsaber... The Rebels ANAKIN is close enough (and 14$ is less than I could make one for - i THINK) unless someone has a price effective DIY version!

Thanks in advance!!!!

Instead of the shirt perhaps you could go with the poncho and cover any white shirt available?

Use your imagination :)

A Tunic? If you want cheaper then $40 you will need to make it yourself. It is a pretty basic garment. Check out these instructions: http://www.thejediassembly.com/tutorials.php?id=hk9

There is also a commercial pattern you can find on ebay for $7: Simplicity Pattern 5840 Men's Women's Costume XS-XL Capes Tunic Robe hooded

Thrift shops are your friend. You can pick up most what you need there. Khaki pants, a karate shirt, and a black utility belt. You can probably use Ace bandages for the leg wraps. The saber can be built out of PVC and sheet plastic (a for sale sign) with craft foam or self adhesive felt for the grips.
