Hmmm,... I'm not sure if my post will be seen as hijacking this thread ( and I hope not ) but I'm about 80% done with a Nite Owl II cast myself. I have 2 more weeks to have it ready for Comic-Con. After that it will be produced for sale. I'm posting from work right now so I'm hardly in any position to find/post pics. Come to think of it, I've never been a fan of "work in progress" pics so I doubt I'd post anything other than the final pics of when it's done anyways.
Fiberglass form based on a 6'2" male, 230 lbs, slight gut but not much. Has wide upper thighs.
Onto this form we did a clay sculpt for the pants which we ( Westcoastbusters ) plastered into molds about 2 weeks ago. They're not perfect but considering as how all the full-body-suit experts I consulted refused to share info to assist on this project, we did okay for a bunch of first timers. ( Any imperfections are on the backs of the legs, anyways. ) The details of the suit goes down to the mid-shin after which it's all smooth latex since no one really sees what's inside the boot at that point anyhow. I just finished the latex mold for the part that goes over the laces of the boot.
We're still making the sculpt of the upper chest and using actual zippers to cast into the form for best detail. If these are produced for sale then it would be up to the buyer to leave the impression of the zipper or cut those out and replace with real zippers. The sculpt for the chest should be done soon and will go from neck to wrist.
Assuming we're happy enough with this for one of my friends to wear to Con, I'll probably make this available for sale here. We'll probably make a cowl between August and October but no promises. The one seen on this thread by DarthChiro is looking really good and is obviously way better than those lousy Rubies things which could only comfortably fit someone with a head the size of a watermelon.
