Limited Run Luke Skywalker The Force Awakens Lightsaber

Dan, i assume you´ve read above regarding my defective cube area - any idea to fix it?

Additional, i got the wrong d-ring. Not sure if you send a tri-ring in a envelope, too?

If I'm reading correctly the Luke saber from anakin Starkiller comes with a control box just not the greeblies like the black button the card and the triangles?

Bad luck with the tri-rings I guess. Mine came in yesterday no problem. Now just have to check Google and see if I can find anything to tell me how to put it on [emoji12]

And my hilt also has tool marks between the pommel cubes, but it doesn't bother me too much. Very happy overall on this end, thanks Starkiller [emoji4]

Hello everyone,

So, with the recent blue ray release of TFA, it's been discovered that the prop department actually made a new lightsaber for Luke for the new film.

In case you missed it. We've been discovering the new saber over here http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=259129&page=5

Here's my model

I've decided to do a small run of 30 of these (well actually 29 since I'm going to take the first one).

The kit will consist of two aluminum machined parts, the saber body and the control box. (And I'll thrown in the triangle ring)

The cost will be $115.00 plus 17.50 shipped in the US and 27.50 shipped international

This will be a limited run of 30. The first 29 people to commit to the run here will be on the list and will be expected to pay up in a timely fashion once the parts have come in.

I will not accept payment until I have all the parts in hand. However, I expect that if you sign up here, you accept that you have made a commitment to follow through on your purchase.

In order to sign up. You must post your commitment n the space below. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY EMAILED ME, PMD ME, OR POSTED IN THE RESEARCH THREAD ABOUT THIS SABER YOU ARE NOT SIGNED UP. YOU MUST REPLY TO THIS THREAD BELOW TO SIGN UP.

Since this is a sign up thread, please only post below to get your name on the list.

Anyone know if anakin star killer will Do the same run as this on this year? I really want to get one and should I get tomm1999's limited pieces run just in case this run is brought up again?

From Post #141 on p. 6:

Will there be more runs of this saber?

I'm going to hold off on doing a second run for a little bit, because I'd like to see if any better references turn up. I will defiantly be doing another run, but it might not be until we get closer to VIII

I'm not sure how we would know more about when Dan will do the next run than what Dan knows himself and has already responded.

Got my envelope today - but no ring, damaged envelope.

Funny thing - as usual when they get a damaged envelope the Deutsche Post has put it in a small plastic bag to prevent more damage, not knowing that the part was already missing.

After a bit of trouble with PayPal, I finally got my hilt today all the way down in Australia! It's my first lightsaber and I couldn't be happier, as it is a beautiful piece of work. Thanks must go to Dan, to everyone here who gave their input during the initial few weeks back in April/May, and especially to Dan's brother who patiently helped out as much as he could with the PayPal issues. Now to work up the courage to weather and paint it...

Worked on the saber today! I first filed the sharp edges and made some bumps and scratches. Then I dulled the aluminium in a sodium hydroxide solution (pretty violent exothermic reaction with the aluminium!) and made some dirty spots with aluminum black. I then spray painted the black and the copper. I mixed in some black to make the copper darker. I used a lot of steel wool in between. I also painted the edges of the activation box and glued a black plastic piece on top and on the side. It's still missing the triangles and I might tweak it here and there.
But overall I'm happy with this "in between" uncertain saber!

Beautiful job!

roygilsing, for the triangle ring, did you remove any material where the 2 ends meet before installing it on the pommel (like Roman's d ring tutorial), or did you simply open it up with pliers (or whichever tool) and close the ends back together without removing any of the triangle ring? Beautiful looking saber!

I cut a piece out, because it's a welded ring and it's pretty thick. But I cut a bit too much out, around 8mm. I found out that only 4-5mm would have been enough.
