DBCooper, thanks for posting!

And thanks for the link Jedifyfe!

Re: National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets - Props Discussion

Anyone happen to know any other NT2 props other members are making/selling? I'm most interested in purchasing a prop book of Riley Poole's Templar Treasure book. I know some of the original are hero props, and others are a block of wood with a dust jacket cover on them. I am also wondering if anyone ever considered making a replica of Riley's book, but actually have contents in the book.

Otherwise, a prop replica with the proper dust jacket would be cool too.

Don't have anything on the book but,

Relicmaker was looking at doing a Booth Derringer.

Hotshot was offering both Olmec planks

Stephan and MurdocXXL offer a Mt. Vernan map. Turboman offered one as well but I have not seen him here in a while.

I thought someone had a book cover around here that could be printed off ?????

Hmm... jameth1971, do you have a link to where Stephan and MurdocXXL discussed their Mt. Vernan map prop? I might be interested in that. I messaged Turboman something a long time ago, but he hasn't replied, so I guess he is not active right now.

I'll take a look into it (regarding Riley's book). Let me know if you can find a link to the person who had the book cover available to be printed off. Thanks!

I remember this thread last year. Some very insightful stuff. Was just reading through it and I found it funny how far some of the propmakers have gone since then. There was a discussion on here about how difficult the Booth Diary would be to make, and yet it was accomplished by the talented and skilled Sarednab. And Sarednab's version actually was more accurate to the real Booth Diary than Ross's, according to a representative/member of one of the Booth museum (can't remember the details he gave, but I'm sure it's in one of the threads Sarednab posted about). Such great propmakers on here.

I would just like to renew this thread temporarily. I'm still interested in getting the Riley Poole Templar Treasure book replica that is made so it will have actual chapters and is readable like a real book. I heard that someone was going to make one and was in the process of it, but never saw a thread about it since. Did I miss out on what happened with that, or is the project still ongoing?

I highly recommend Sarednab's Booth Diary. If you are a National Treasure fan this one is a must. After a long search I finally found someone who sold me their Olmec planks. Great pieces that look and feel like real wood. I still have a desire to one day carve my own planks out of real wood. Just another project to add to the list.

Here is my copy of Sarednab/Tazvader Book Of Secrets. This is the highlight of my NT collection. The content, the inserts and the aging is about as perfect as you can get.

My quest now is for the masonic brick and the ocular glasses. I suppose I need a copy of the Declaration Of Independence, but I'm not sure how to display it. How do you display yours?

Nice!! Sarednab's BoS replica looks incredible! Just out of curiosity, is that BoS the regular version or the limited version with the pages that are made out of the same material as the original BoS (made by Ross MacDonald)?

Do you have his Booth's diary as well?

As for the Declaration of Independence, maybe you can get a frame, or you can put it in a replica of the leather tube from the movie. I think Indy Magnoli and maybe even Sarednab made one. (I'm not sure if Sarednab ended up finishing his, but I remember he had a thread about it).

Here are my NT2 props. I have one of the original, production-made BoS. Although this is one of my most prized possessions, I still wish I had picked up one of Sarednab's, as his reads more like a "real" book. The original one contains more facsimiles and recreation of real documents. I also have the first BoS made by Taz and Mars, but I'm looking to sell that one now as I need some cash.

PS: Hey, I just noticed!! You live in Dunwoody, Georgia, Figure5901!! That's so close to me! Cool to know that another fellow collector (member of RPF) and a National Treasure fan lives in the same area. ;)

Here's the thread I'm selling the BoS in if anyone is interested:

I don't really know which version. I didn't know Sarednab did two different versions. I purchased this one from a fellow member a few months ago. It came with two packets of material on UFOs and the Kennedy assassination. It also came with the key to the resolute desk.
Yes, I do have the Booth Diary as well. Great piece also, now I need to get his KGC pin to go along with it.
This makes the second prop collector from Georgia I've met on this forum. Dartinvictus also lives nearby, I've been over to see him a few times to talk props. What part of Georgia do you live?

Yeah, I think the only difference between the two is the material of the pages that was in the book. The "limited" version had pages that were made out of the same material as the one from the original BoS. But I don't know too much about Sarednab's versions as I didn't follow up too much on the one he was selling.

Awesome! I didn't know anyone from Georgia who was on here. I've been interacting with so many people all over the world, so it's cool to know that there are other prop collectors nearby. :lol

I thought I'd add a little fun fact about the Templar Treasure book prop that might be useful if someone wanted to make a fully readable version.

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number ) printed on the back of the prop dust jacket is a real ISBN. It is actually the ISBN for a book called "Shadow of the Sentinel: One Man's Quest to Find the Hidden Treasure of the Confederacy" by Warren Getler and Bob Brewer, published in 2003. I love that the prop maker went to the trouble of using an ISBN from a real book about the search for Confederate treasure.

Depending on the size of the hardcover version of "Shadow of the Sentinel", perhaps the "Templar Treasure" prop dust jacket would fit around it to produce a readable prop.

I'd like to kick this old thread. Today I took out my Book of Secrets again from Sarednabs run, an to my suprise I noticed that the last pages (written by Gearge Bush Jr.) are IN THE WRONG ORDER!!! So disappointed to notice this only now :(.

Are there other people here who have the same issue with their BoS?

My copy must be a little earlier than yours because I only have George W. Bush. To this day still my favorite prop.

Mmm, no Bill Clinton entry too for you? As far as I know, mine came from the very first run of Sarednab?

My mistake. It was a very early morning for me. I went back and looked again and mine is correct. I have George H. W. Bush, then Bill Clinton, and finally George W. Bush. All in the correct order. I'm not sure which version I have. I purchased mine from another member here years ago. I absolutely love it. It always amazes everyone that sees it.

Just checked mine and they are in the correct order George Bush Sr, Bill Clinton and finally GWB.

Contacted Sarednab and indeed it's an error in mine. After the corona-crisis I'll send it over to him and he'll try to fix it. Problem is that the last double page with text was bound folded the other way around. So that page has to be taken out of the signature, folded the other way around an bound again. Nothing I can do myselfs, since I'm not book-binder. Hopefully Sarednab can manage this without ruining the inner book...

So this is the order in my book at this moment (sheet with 13 - 14 - 15 - 16 is folded incorrectly):
