New model for OWK three holes saber... (New pics on pg 13. 11-17-2024)

Interesting. To my eyes the AOTC greeblie is a tighter sphere than the rivets. I’ve handled a lot of them and the dome is much more gentle. The reflection on this thing looks like there would be a gap around the thing face on, and I kind of already see that in the second photo
Some of the rivets have a much more spherical appearance. Just depends on their specific application. The rivets on the right are the ones included in the TPM Hero run, the rivet on the left is a spherical headed rivet.

The purple coating on the rivets is a soft cosmetic only anodize. The purple comes off rivets very, very easily exposing the bare metal below. This is by design, the rivets are purple to make clear that they are made of aluminum for use on aluminum parts. Once installed you don’t need to know what material it is, that’s why you’ve never seen a purple rivet on an airplane.

EDIT- after doing more research I remembered incorrectly. The coating is a colored anodize, post above was updated.
any idea where I can buy a bag of rivets?

I've been looking for a purple rivet and this is what I found, I just need to know the diameter and length that will fit in the brass valve.

Assuming that the AOTC hero is a refurbished TPM hero, and assuming that the rivet is the original, I wonder if maybe they shined up the brass barb to remove tarnishing, and also inadvertently removed some/most/all of the violet anodizing.

The nice thing is that the optional parts provide a Plan B for people who missed out on the super-accurate TPM saber run. I have a feeling that a good number of people bought the kit for that alone, and not just to have the salt shaker variant.

My friend from Canada is afraid of his postal service going on strike so he sent it to me to wait it out. It arrived safe and sound in the basement!
