Ninth Gate Balkan Lecture Lobby Card

I'll do the same for the stamp and the back of the post card.
Safe your time mate. I already did all the extensive and lots of time consuming work many years ago. Have fun with the files :) the back and the front from the original card, my hand made stamp painstakingly copied from the original one and the Getty file that costs so many bucks.

Digital Mayhem - Thanks for those great images! But as I already said, I'll do my version, which is a combination of photo enhancement and digitalized text.

So far, here's the postcard front made from 3 screen caps, then cleaned up and enhanced:

The back of the postcard is the blank version for now. I'll do the rest this week:

The font used for this is called Toronto (bold italic for the top left corner and normal for the rotated text on the middle.

Also, for the movie they used at least 2 versions of the postcard with slightly different handwriting:

MB - Am I remembering correctly that the Nine Gates is you own work? I have been looking for the leather tools to emboss the cover for a while. Any suggestions on leads? Nice work.

The "frame" on the leather was part of the binding (according to my specification). I might have tried it but don't have the correct tool. As to the pentagram I first drew it on paper then placed it on the book cover and marked the lines several times with a pencil so it would pass to the leather. Used a golden marker but will add gold leaf as the marker ink fades with time.

MB - Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking around for a competent bookbinder who can do leather embossing.
I think that is the best solution ( unless you have the right tools and know the art of binding). The guy that did mine did a great job. I love the touch of the thick leather. The rest is a bit of a pain but it pays off - printing and aging hundreds of pages one by one is a long and time consuming job.

RafalFett, your time and dedication is unparalleled.

Thanks!

Here's the final version of the postcard front:

I did my best to clean up the scan lines and dust marks, then enhance the scanned image kindly shared with us by Digital Mayhem.

I think I will redo the writing and the stamp mark on the back. There's a 3rd version of the writing seen for a few frames:

The zip code 75004 is written after Paris.

Any PIC detective found this painting?

So, I checked the Soubrier site, and went through what paintings they have for film production rental. No luck, so it definitely wasn't rented from them.

Spent some time searching bing, google, for Mare & Foal victorian paintings. No luck.

I was just about to give up, and post here saying I had no luck..... but I tried one last time....

Hand coloured etching after J.F.Herring.
Size 13.5 x 14.5 inches. Ref U329A.(approx 34 x 37 cms.)

A google search for " Hack Mare & Foal" brings up a lot of results, with variations, with a softer/smoother look, that match the screen used a bit more.
