Wow…one year passed without any updates
It‘s been a quiet year with regards to new -finished- props, but at least I managed to get my hands on quite a few parts, kits (thanks eethan) and even some smaller stuff like the wonderful work of Lowlandprops (Roy Gilsing).
I started to work on several blasters, finished the Rancor door panel (kit provided by Ryan Clinton) and worked on my R1 blue squadron pilot (esp. the custom helmet).
Here‘s a little something I did today (still need to add the text to tge plaque)…the Endor rebel trooper wrist communicator. roy Gilsing kindly gifted me one of the stands he an Marvin are using along with their awesome work, which I used to display the comlink.
Should fit nicely in the cabinet besides the Hoth comm. and Lando‘s general badges
Beautiful work bench… love that blasterMy current workbench…
I dig the X-Wing helmet, what's that one from? I don't recognize it. I really would like some helmets, but man that is a money pit! I had a few cheaper ones years ago, but feel like I need to add some.
So clean, so tidy and organisedMy current workbench…
in the eventuality you are discussing the part I made above for Markus, this is based on photos of the real prop and a 3D model by me, I never heard of your Margolin ;-) (or you mean the real cast I based my model on is a screen-used Margolin you sold?)Just so you guys know I'm helping you all out because as soon as I sell something (my real Margolin ROTJ Leia), people start coming out with more accurate parts. You're welcome.![]()
I can confirm, I asked Matthieu to make me one of these back in April based on the photo above which has been available on line for years.Just so you guys know I'm helping you all out because as soon as I sell something (my real Margolin ROTJ Leia), people start coming out with more accurate parts. as a machinist.. when you see grooves that are all different sizes like this, what is your conclusion on the original tooling? Obviously it isn't one tool used over and over, something half the size?to be truthful, I searched online and that blaster with the photo above sold at the March auction at HA, so those photos are relatively recent.
And I don't know if that was your blaster that you sold Sluis Van Shipyards, I'm just saying I wasn't aware and I made that 3D model based on those photos and other snapshots from the movie.
If that was your sale, then yes I guess, thank youBy the way, I only did 3 of those ;-)
In any case, I did my own work for sure
The important part is that Markus did a great job with his blasters![]()
no, they just used a 45° tool and moved forward with random/eyeballed lengths. I mean, this was my answer for a metal part, but I think this was wood turned again, so they just did it by hand as well and that gave random sizes on the groovesas a machinist.. when you see grooves that are all different sizes like this, what is your conclusion on the original tooling?
