Portal Gun from scratch! First build!

Quick Update!

Electronics! I love electronics! XD *squee!*

Recieved some "piranha" style LEDs in the maill today fresh from eBay. I went for a drive after work to my local Jaycar Electronics store to purchase some resistors.

Did I mention I love electronics? So cool...

The orange ones are a bit duller that the blue, but still plenty bright enough considering how many there are...

I've got a deadline I'd like to meet now, Armageddon in Melbourne on October 22nd, so I can take it along for a bit of cosplay ;)

Plenty planned to do over the weekend, let's see how much I can accomplish in 2 days, yes? XD

24 Hours Later Update!

So, day 1 of the weekend has passed... Did I make any progress? YES! w00t!

So today I finished off the barrel-end piece of lighting circuitry. It's very bright on blue and quite bright on orange, so I'm happy with it for now...

This is the finished board (not pretty, I know ;) but it works...) with the switch temporarily hooked up to check wiring is correct.

I also got some fairly important stuff done on the barrel itself, chiefly putting in the air-dry modelling clay for the barrel sides and front... It looks like it will work fine! I built most of it up a little for sanding and finishing when dry...

So, there's the update for today, tune in tomorrow night to see if I managed to finish anything else! ;)
