Predator - Ol' Painless

I saw a Marco enterprises M134 on ebay about 2 years ago. That was the first time I heard of that company. I think it sold for $300 and it was really good looking for the cost. Mostly thermo-molded plastic like a plastic garbage can. Also I've seen non firing replicas for under $1000 from time to time on ebay and elsewhere.

Thanks for the wealth of information, guys. I had no idea this gun was also used in T2. Cool!

From the sounds of it, any attempt at a replica is both complex and expensive.

For those of us not educated in minigun model numbers and equipment, it sounds like there are ways to make one that has revolving barrels and one without. Is that right?

Also, has any licensed company ever attempted a real replica of the Predator version (not T2)?

Oh and one of my favorite shots is when Blain 'cocks' the mini-gun in the movie.

Do your versions do the same?

Why does he have to cock the barrel? Or was that just a fancy move for the movie?

Joeranger also made one and it's barrels spin. I think he used a cordless drill of some sort.

And I'd like to ask, why the heck is it called a "minigun"? There's nothing mini about it!

I was told by profiles that the original "ol painless" will be in an upcoming profiles auction if anyone is interested.

It is the smaller version (mini) of the original 20mm Gatling gun (modern, USAF weapon named after the hand cranked, multi barreled guns of the old west).

The original is a full NFA (aka Class III) firearm. When it left the movie industry it was sold to the Allegheny Firearms Museum with the cutup and modified cradle as seen in the photo I marked up with red arrows, etc. If it is still a working minigun, the potential market is pretty limited. Lots of money and lots of paperwork and in some states no amount of money will get it if it is in firing condition. The live one we rent out stays in Nevada.

Would be an awesome prop. However, maintenance on these things is daunting, replacement parts expensive and even with a lowered ROF the cost of shooting is incredible.

My buddy Ficker made one.

I made a Blaine replica using a Jesse Ventura action figure and some G.I. Joe scale stuff. Looks like your buddy.

I thought Blain was just taking the 'safety' off!
Mike Howard in Manchester had a *** paintball one of these (they also did a nickel plated version and I think it was featured in a HOBBY JAPAN book around 1996) which took a huge drum/hopper to hold the 'ammo'. He could paint his whole fence in around 15 seconds.Oh! and it was great for stopping next doors cat pissing up his shed.At the time it was the only one in the UK and he sold it for about £3.5k!!!

Easier to fire in a static mount, for the weak of arm :)

This is a Dillon Aero in .308 at 4,000 rounds per minute...they sell for $135,000 (EoTech not included)...

Where, oh WHERE do I get the ammo belt slip-cover-bullet-hider-sleeve thingy that feeds from the pack to the weapon? I'll be needing some for my T-600 project. And how many limbs and kidneys will I be looking at to get it? Thanks...! :)
