Ray Gun Show Off Thread!

Someone told me I should share some of my rayguns with you all, so here they are! One I made last year, one (with holster) I made a good few years back , and a third I'm currently working on - I'll post more of that one when it's finished!

Told you they'd be appreciated.

Amazing! this looks nearly identical to one I had mocked up but later scrapped, If I'm not mistaken it's two pewter chalices stuck together with an old plane handle as a grip? Love the regal vibe with the twisted stems, very cool.

Thanks :) It is indeed, though if I recall these ones are silver plated brass instead of pewter - either way drilling the stems out was a real pain!

This also reminded me I completely forgot to share the third one once I'd finished it! Here it is anyway if anyone's interested. There's a flashgun circuit from a disposable camera in the body so the valves and such will flash when the trigger's pulled.

Hello!

Just finished up with this one, really happy with the results!

Raygun spin gif.gif

What was originally a custom Star Wars blaster build became this thing. Some sort of mechanically powered Ray gun? Laser pistol? Who knows.

It was a little side project for ages, and after sitting on a shelf unpainted for weeks I decided it was time to finish it up and be done with it. It's all handmade, mostly found parts and some fabricated from aluminium or acrylic. The whole thing is textured with UV resin and painted with Dulux spray cans, they have an excellent silver that looks really sharp and is super easy to apply.

It's got a working trigger, which was something I hadn't done before. I modeled and 3D printed a custom stand specifically for this piece, which I'm also very happy with. I hope you all like it, as always I'm heavily inspired by this thread and the amazing work in it.

Cheers!

As I don't feel like a year has truly passed without making at least one raygun, here's 2023's offering!
A piece for a somewhat atompunk western outfit I've been putting together. Nothing very fancy, but it does the job, and has a functioning trigger which I'm quite pleased with (as if there's one thing I've learnt it's that if there is a trigger, someone will pull it). Also featuring the hatband I made for the same outfit.
