Sds e-11

Hi,
I can answer this as I am the guy that supplied SDS all the original parts that these blasters were molded from.

If I was you Bro I would cut and run while you had the chance.

Trust me you will be better off in the long run!

Arhh, I think you are referring to the difference in barrel size to receiver?
We didn't cast the main tube we used a plastic tube which was a fraction larger than the original so there is a slight step.

The barrel is inside the gun. The outside tube with the holes is the receiver.
You get what I'm saying though.
Maybe it's the lighting (cast shadows from rear lighting), but it looks like the receiver tube is 1/8" thicker all around than the actual receiver.

I fixed the pic links.

And yes I think the DVDs do show some wonderful sculpting skills! :lol

To me that's the most irritating thing about AA. Him claiming he sculpted the Stormtroopers, when all he did is mold and vacform them.
As 'defstartrooper' said attempting to steal credit from the original artist, the late Liz Moore, is just the lowest of the low. Still trying to take credit even after the truth came to light in the trial is even worse.

Also can I just add that this is supposed to be a Trooping Blaster and not a super accurate display piece.

I understand that, but it's not really portrayed that way in the advertising.
It's nice but there are more accurate trooping blasters out there.
A PVC resin combo blaster is nothing new.

All I can do is point him in the right direction and hope he takes all these points on board but it is ultimately his descision, his product and his site. I am just trying to help.

I wouldn't help the guy at all. He's lost all respect here.
He's likely walking right into more legal trouble too, either from LFL or the UK replica weapons laws.

Well clearly AA's lawyers likely advised him that it wouldn't be a problem as they would probably be able to argue on the basis that it isn't an original sculpture or artistic work. And modifying a gun wouldn't make it an artistic work if the gun design itself or elements of the design are already copyright. Let's face it, if LFL can't get AA by this point with everything he's done (apart from blocking sales to the US), how would they be able to do anything about a sterling? I don't think it is right, but obviously AA doesn't seem concerned about legal action at this point. Is he up the creek without one of his paddles? Doesn't seem to be.... :confused But it does seem bold of him to offer something that SDS wasn't involved in making. Does eFX have the license for Star Wars weapons in general? I know they produced that Ahsoka lightsaber.

I was wondering if it isn't the same thing being sold over at the FISD:

I don't see where he did accuse you. I see that he's on about someone over at the whitearmor forum, which he did quote the link to in the post. Seems everyone needs to get their facts straight.

SDS will make his exaggerated claims, just as he does with the armor, until the day he dies. It is the one thing that I think we can all agree he actually did do.

Did you even read his post before you went on the defensive? Honestly telling him to get the facts straight when you are off it right field?

What part of that is confusing or accusing you? He even quoted a link to the white armor forums for sale thread in question in his post...

this isn't the 'SD Studios' guy here on the RPF is it?

No this is Shepperton Design Studios run by the delusional vacuum former Andrew Ainsworth from the original Star Wars that tried to take steal claim for the Stormtrooper from a deceased lady and a very fine gentleman... He is a compulsive liar and crook, and yes I said crook when you try and steal credit for something you didn't do (from a decease lady none the less) you are a crook...

OK, so this has nothing to do with me or this blaster so it shouldn't have been posted here.

All I tried to do is help someone out and lend them my parts and all hell breaks loose. I am in no way gaining anything financially out of this, Yes I am getting a blaster but that is honestly as far as it goes.
I don't condone or agree with most of the claims that AA has made in the past or still maintains but this has nothing to do with me or the current project.
I am in this hobby for fun and it stops there. It's not my job.
Having got to know AA over the years he is a nice guy, if a little delusional. I wasn't there in his workshop in 1976 so I don't get involved with that.
You all have your views and are perfectly entitled to them.
I think I am done here on this thread, I will try and get AA to amend the points that people here have pointed out and thanks for your input.
Mark.

Point taken, I am sorry. I thought it was making out this is me as it was on this thread.

Mark.

I believe apollo has given you the best advise... It might be blunt and you might not agree, but truth is if you don't want to be associated with the SDS negativity then distance yourself as far as you can, promoting his wares, defending his product and telling everyone what a nice chap he is, is only going to drag yourself further into the hornets nest...

So wait.... this isn't the 'SD Studios' guy here on the RPF is it?

No that is not him.

AA was invited here through different members and never joined as he knew he was gonna have his --- handed to him! :lol

If it wasn't for AA, I never would have found this place, so he did do some good. lol!

Huh.. he's gotten away with everything up to this point because it was just trademark stuff.. but I bet the laws in the UK about replica weapons will sink him now.

I wouldn't bank on that he's a sneaky SOB the fact he's stil in business producing stormtrooper and other helmets and armour despite not winning the case LFL bought proves that.
I'd bet he has found some kind of loophole here i'd just like to know what it is.
