My Sideshow collectibles The Man With No Name Premium Format Figure arrived yesterday. I had been very excited about this, having been a fan of the character and Clint for a long time. At first I was overjoyed with it. The overall statue looks very impressive at first glance.

But as I started looking at it more closely, I noticed that the likeness looked noticeably different and much less lifelike, less detailed and less accurate than what sideshow advertised. Almost like an action figure. I admit my experience with Sideshow is limited but I’m curious what others think.

Im there already. I was planning on weathering the vest, detailing the gun, etc. but now I’m waiting to hear back from Sideshow to see if by some miracle they send me a replacement head. If not, then I think I may give the facelift a shot. Any suggestions?

I know, but that would require way too much wisdom on my part ….
I don't have wisdom, I'm just a that'll do pig kind of fella ! Most folks here have much higher standards than I do ...for instance, my TombStone set is nothing like the movie one but I just built it anyhow...didn't even look at a screen shot

I totally agree. With the prices they charge, I want what I was promised. Per the pics, the piece on the left is far superior than the one on the right. You did not receive what was promised. If it were me, I would return it post haste.

Sideshow of course is attributing the difference to that figure being a prototype and professional lighting for the website pics. That argument seems pretty feeble to me, given that the differences are also evident from this “unboxing” YouTube video that Sideshow puts out.

Anyway, don’t mean to turn this into a whining session but figured I’d reality check myself here. Thanks.

Sideshow doesn't have the big mistakes from the factory like years ago. But still they ask overseas workers to match their in house artists for high run statues. Few companies put up the extra money to get the factories to match that work. Sideshow seems to at times. Or they get lucky.

I still have this Blondie statue on my list. I was hoping that Hot Toys would make all three characters from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Perhaps they still will one day. Or another 3rd Party company might. Still if need be, there are painters out there who can make this Sideshow Blondie just like the prototype.

That’s what I’m going to do. Paint it to get it closer to the website. Lightening the eyes, a bit of shadowing around the laugh lines and a bit more suntan on the cheeks. I’m also going to darken and weather the vest, reverse the trouser belt to wear it lefty like Clint did, darken the hatband a bit and detail the gun a bit more (it’s missing some gold and the grips could be lighter wood color). Let’s see what happens. I’ll post back here with the results.

Very helpful. Thanks. Of course since the Denix is the Straightline collectibles that I own for my cosplay, that raises the question… shouldn’t I modify the cosplay one??? Even though I personally prefer the look of the brass on the Denix? Deserves some thought.

I think the denix is fine but check out the new kolser 1851 navy or pietta blank gun...I don't know your local legislation on blank guns but the kolser is pot metal like the denix but strips like a real Colt so you can do the assembly scene ! The blank gun is steel
