STAR WARS - Skeleton Crew props & costume

So… anyone ready to go deep on researching Wim’s Saber after tonight’s episode? Here’s to hoping it shows up at Lucasfilm in the cases soon and someone can snap some pics.
Oh yess it's so beautiful!
rare for me to get excited about a lightsaber ngl... although i guess its not technically his yet, he shouldve grabbed it lol

About the ball, it is a slap ball, which I believe was designed in CGI and that prop for the backpack. Still looking for something like that.

and BTW, I found the stackable lunch bee girl is using too. Unbranded and made in china. They probably used the white one, and painted the base yellow/corn?

gmrhodes13 talking about walkies, a found part you can get is the button switches covers. What I do see from the photos is they painted the top in the same color of the plastic cover. Since I still don't have a pair on my hands, I would assume they are the smaller ones, 12.8 x 18,8mm? Transparent and blue, base will be a piece of cake to model.

I hope a slightly off-topic tangent from the tin soldier search is okay (no worries if mods delete). THIS IS NOT THE FIGURE YOU’RE LOOKING FOR. But this was endearing and made me tear up…

At some point my youth, when I’d outgrown my Star Wars action figures (original Kenner!) and was just adult enough to understand what he was passing along, my dad gave me a bunch of tin soldiers from his youth. I kept these in an acrylic display case for a few years, but eventually packed them away carefully when I moved out, they’ve sat in a box for decades but this thread made me dig them out. Out of about 3 dozen, there’s one lefty:

The left-handedness of the tin Jedi figures might’ve jumped out at me because Dad was a lefty (not by choice, but polio). And it really only just now occurred to me that he probably gave these to me rather than my older siblings (aged out of peak Star Wars demographic) as a way to say “these were my generation’s Star Wars figures.”

He was also a huge military history buff. Picture like the nerdiest of us here with Star Wars lore, but military history, every little detail of every uniform ever. Feeling a little sad because I know if he were still here I could just ask “Hey Pop, what’s with the lefties?” and he could Epic Rap Battle about it for three hours.

ANYWAY. Sometimes soldiers are just left-handed. It occurred to me there could also be certain ceremonial reasons for it (e.g. Honor Guard rifle positions). Like hey check out the King’s/Queen’s Guard:

Anyway, if you’re blessed with a History Nerd in your life, they might have a lead on those figures (long-e lead as in direction, not element 82), like some search terms to use. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Your father and mine:cool::cool:(y)(y) There was, of course, many types of lead soldiers throughout the ages. Some were very well painted with very good details (rich kids), some were not so well painted (middle-class kids) and some were made out of wood dust and glue (poor kids).
It seems that the Jedi "soldiers" were made very crudely and trying to imitate the "Wood-dust-and-glue" of the poor kids.
Btw, my father had a tin soldiers collection of more than 1,800 pieces, amassed over more than 70 years;) I'll try to found the photos of his collection.

I have some of those from officer rank bars but they are too long, looks like they may have trimmed them as the width is right, could be why they are painted?

I have some inexpensive switches from Aliexpress, these are the right height, just need to trim the side to fit

EDIT

There are two versions of the dial/switch

You may be able to notice the small blue square between the switches on the LFL walkie, could be for spacing the buttons when gluing

Well, the ones I have and 12.8mm x 12.8mm and 18.8mmx12.8.mm I estimated screen used one width around 11.12mm from the very same image I modified. Don't know If there is another brand doing them smaller. IF not, cutting down the EAO rectangular ones could be possible.

Yep, same little outlined blue square on both sides keeping the gap even but maybe LEDs?
