STP fires Weiland

He's starting to be remind me of Vivian from Def Leopard, he's been fired from tons of bands too then attacked Ronnie James Dio because Dio wouldn't pay him the stupid amount of cash he wanted.

Hah, he released the following statement about half an hour ago:

"I learned of my supposed "termination" from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press. Not sure how I can be "terminated" from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday."

Right. A total shock, I'm sure. Which is why he's launching a tour on Friday, which wouldn't require any kind of negotiations with venues and vendors, etc. well in advance...

Yeah, I loved STP while I was in middle school, and high school. Still do. But the more I read about Scott Weiland, the more of a giant ****** he seems to be.

I saw a few interviews of him and between his tacky clothes and arrogant attitude it's no wonder he gets fired and divorced so often.

He's been making solo music since 98. I think he has a few albums. He's never been my thing. I like Velvet Revolver better than STP

Velvet Revolver is the closesest to the original GNR as we're going to get, though I'm not sure why they haven't hired the one singer (Miles Kennedy i think it was) that sings for Slash and does amazing on the high vocals axl used to do.

C'mon man - it's DEF LEPPARD - and Vivian Campbell was the worst thing that ever happened to the band. After Steve Clark they should have went back to Pete Willis

As for STP - they'll find someone else - probably already have.

It's Myles (with a Y) Kennedy, and according to Wikipedia, they reached out to him when they were forming up in 2002; for various reasons it didn't work out. Incidentally, if you like his vocals, check out Alter Bridge, his band with Mark Tremonti. I highly recommend their stuff, particularly their second album, Blackbird. :thumbsup

It's brutal to read the Rolling Stone interview now knowing that just a few hours later everything he said didn't happen, happened.

Yeah i saw the spelling, i just forgot to comeback to fix it lol. I saw him and slash on That Metal Show and in concert on tv and he does some amazing vocals. I wish the original GNR would get back together but even when they're on speaking terms with Axl he messes it up.

He'll be able to put on a club tour quickly enough, if he really wants to.

Weiland got into a fight with my brothers best friend at Detroit venue. I want to say it happened around 1993. This was before they hit it big. He has the police record of the account framed in his office these days.

He is right tho, cant fire the dude if he founded the band, has the rights to the name n other stuff.

He may be a crazy messed up guy. But he is still a favorite of mine. couldn't stand velvet revolver music tho.
